I stopped using facebook for awhile when I started hubpages! So a lot of hours, it bothers my work. LOL. This is more fun I'd say. It allows you to interact with people of different cultures and point of views. This has an active community with a lot to say. Spiffy!

I had a short love affair with FB.  I probably spend 3 hours a day on HP.

Hubpages wins hands down. Facebook has its unique benefits (friends that I have met in real life). However, I hubpages has a nice community feel. I am not too sure how many hours I spend, probably an hour or two. But I love every bit of it. It's great fun to get up in the morning and see the page views have gone up while I was sleeping.

FAR too many, lol. I'm here pretty much on and off all day, most days. Pretty easy to do when you're broke and out of work, lol. Got a job now, though, so shortly I'll be back to work and not able to spend hours on end trolling anymore. I guess that's probably a good thing.

I spend about 6 to 8 hours a day just messing around on hubpages. I enjoy reading what others have to say.

I never had a love affair with FB.  But I used to be addicted to blogging which is much different from hubbing.  Now I'm also addicted to hubbing and spend hours upon hours researching articles I write.. but first I spend hours upon hours thinking of what to write about. lol

I love the overwhelming theme of most answers here that hubpages provides much more and I agree 100% with that. Also, as a writer, this is the platform to get going on.

I am always thinking and reasearching as well knowing that I have followers that expect well written and interesting contents/hubs.  I take pride in that.

I personally, for now, do not have a FB page. I may later, but not for now. I prefer my hub page and I just read last week that HP will have an iphone app! Woo hooo. I'll really be able to check my account as well.

I, too, love to hub hop, answer , ask and questions as well as checking out the forums, but wish I had more time in the day to do it while at my " 9 to 5" but I make the time and have established a writing routine with it when I get home.  I try to get in at least an hour a day, but I am working on getting in a lot more!

    Great question!

    Thanks!

I'm not sure about time spent, exactly, but it's a lot! I stay at home with my toddler so it can be trying, and leaving comments using my phone is tough, but in the three or four short days I've been a hubber, I'm addicted to exploring. Hubpage has real content instead of fluff (and thank goodness: NO FARMVILLE!)

I love this place. I wish it were more accessible on my phone, but then again, I'd be here a lot more and though I like that idea, my son and husband would not! big_smile

I'm a hubpages addict now too.  FB was nice for finding old friends, but not a lot of good interaction.  hubpages is great for actually sharing ideas.  I'm not sure how much time, but my wife says its too much. lol

Obviously too much time for my husband... he says he is feeling ignored sometimes cause I am always "working"... yet not enough time for me because I would still like to get the number of hubs up and do more reading of other peoples hubs. Even if I am not on, I find myself thinking about hubpages... obviously it is addicting.
I do however have a facebook page... that is just as addicting. Maybe I just have an addictive personality!

Wow, reading all these answers makes me feel much better about how much time I spend perusing HubPages. I spend several hours a day reading and writing (my wife says its an addiction she can handle:) and more time than I'm willing to admit logging on and checking my stats. Great question!

Right now I spend a few hours a day on HubPages before I go to work. I try to write and article a day or every other day. It's fun to see what others are doing and creating. I love this community!
