   Only God (Allah) know better about that, we will wait. The date you mentioned, we don't know what is going to happen, but let me tell you that the Quran told us that there should be signs before this world end, one of those signs are that Jesus coming down from the sky and the world will be under his control. Once you see these signs, just be ready the doomsday.
   Let me ask you a question, are you ready that day? If yes what did you prepare for it? If not what other option do you have?

   It is nonsense. It won't happen in 2012. It is only a narrative story that can be told to make a movie or an animation movie. Just look and see. Especially, we, the Islamic people deny that assumption.
          Indeed, we have such belief that there will be the day after that the whole world will be destroyed totally, but Allah (the Almighty). But it won't happen so sooner like little people say. It will happen after the appearance of Dajjal (a very bad man ever, a cursed man ever, a man who have a huge power who will proclaim himself as a god because he can do what common people can not do); he will fight and kill all moslems all over the world and every body who runs against him; those ones who follow him will be in the hell and the ones who run against him will die in honour.
          Dajjal will be given by Allah power to show off himself for 40 years; some years before that Al-Imam Mahdi will be sent to fight against him. At the forty years, Nabiyullah Isa 'Alaihissalam will be sent to kill him, and he will be dead. After that, Nabiyullah Isa 'Alaihissalam will rule the world for 40 years also. It is after this time the doomsday will happen.
         It is the reason, why no Islamic People believe on the assumption of 2012 doomsday.

   Nope, not at all.
   Its entertaining in a sort of strange way, but I view it with about as much certainty as the 2000 doomsday bug...totally not going to happen. But still, I think it'd be fun to visit the Mayan temples on that day....just to see how people react.
   
   I think people believe in it b/c their friends and friends of friends do. And they think it's better to safe than sorry.

   Load of rubbish! The ancient Central and South Americans believed it, but they also had calendars spanning millennia, so I guess to them 2012 was a long way in the future and anything could happen.
   People do seem to be freaking out about it more though. I remember seenig a website owned by an American man who said that if you sent him $40 he'd send you a book that would tell you how to survive the end of the world.
   I'm sure he's making lots of money but really, think about it - how do you survive the END of the world? Unless his little book gives you a foolproof method for building and supplying a faster-than-light spaceship plus maps to a habitable new earth somewhere in the Milky Way, then there's no way you can survive the END of the world!
   And besides, if it is the end, it's the end. We won't know much about it. Enjoy yourself.

   Never say never, but I would think if the Mayans really knew what they were talking about, they would have been able to do a better job of predicting and avoid their own destruction.

   as i know nothing will happend in 2012 ..i just wanna tell u in 2012 its the calender will end it to start now one and only threat we have its one planet so small far away by 6 million meter and ready to explode any time in the sky the longest its stay far as now we will be safe but if drop closer to the planet  then we have to be worry all this imfo i got it from israely web site in hebrow i hope that astro he  saying the truth dont worry just have fath good luck

   I don't think anything is going to happen.  It will be just like any other day.  A whole lot of people seem to want something to happen on that day and that concerns me, but I just don't see anything significant about the date once you push past all the hoopla.
   
   Why is that day so special anyway?  Why not 12/12/12 instead?  Now there's an interesting date!
   
   If you calculated out the distance between January 1, 2001 (the actual start date of the millennium) and December 12, 2012 you arrive at a space of exactly 11 years, 11 months, and 11 days.  Work the whole 11:11 phenomenon into that and you got yourself a best-selling book.

    I think that all of this "End of the World" talk is pretty silly when you consider that it is because of a calender.
    
    The Mayan calender ends on 12/21/2012 and everyone says "world disaster". However, the calender in my home ends on 12/31 and there's nothing eventful about that, unless you count Dick Clark still being alive and people screaming and shouting in every major capitol of the world eventful.
    
    The truth of the matter is that the Mayans just didn't have enough stone and mud to build a calender that lasted through Eternity. And unless I miss my guess, Family Dollar (or your local equivalent) probably doesn't carry two-thousand year calenders.
    
    So I guess we'll just see. Is this the end of the world or is it just Y2K the sequel?

    Not sure. But if it is the end of the world and we all go to the afterlife, I'd hate to be the guy who said, "It's not like the end of the world or anything." I'm totally going to pound that guy into the ground!

    Just another day because we will not know when or if the world is ending.  The lesson is live your life as though there is no tomorrow.  Do today what you plan for the future.

    Well the prophecy for 2012 was false, the calander was recently proven to be off and it should have happened in like 2008. And we will not know the end of times.

    From what I've watched on National Geo documentaries, they make some good points, but none of them believe it will be the end of the world on that exact date. I do believe there will be some real big disasters by that date. I don't really believe we can know the exact date of the end of the world.

    Since the beginning of the human race there have always been doom sayers around. This reminds me of the vagrant that walks around with the sandwich board around his neck that says 'The end is near'. I am old enough to remember the 1980's when people ran around saying that the world was going to end because for the first time in human history all the planets in the solar system were lined up and the combined gravitational pull was going to send us all careering out into space. But this solar system is much older than the human race and I'm sure that it wasn't the first time that the planets were lined up. We're still here are we not? Just because the Mayan calender ends on a certain date doesn't mean that the world is going to end, maybe the makers of the calender took a coffee break (or what ever it is that they drank) and their civilization ended before they could start up again.

    Previous doomsdays always seemed spurious.  However, there seems to be a strange atmosphere building up at this moment that makes 2012 feel like a significant time. With 12 being such a key life number, well who knows?  The Mayans appear to be one of a network of remarkably similar Pyramid centred, Southern Hemisphere civilisations along the same Earth latitude e.g. the Egyptians and they all seem to point to a re-visitation from other-worldly beings at some point in time.  Only time will tell...

    People really think they might know when dooms day will show up because it has some date significance like 12/12/12...well, how come it was not 12/12/1912 or 12/12/1812, or 1712 or so on. If there is a such thing as "Dooms Day", believe me, it will come at the moment when we all least suspect it and the date will not matter. WB
