   God test us in many ways. We can control our own destiny, we can change outcomes, and God wants to see if we choose good from bad, light over darkness, and choose him.

   The test of existence is only for our own benefit and record. God knows the outcome of our actions because past,present and future are in front of Him simultaneously due to Him being the Creator a separate entity from His Creation.
   
   When we perish and God sends us to hell for our sins, we know what sins we have committed because we lived them. And when God sends us to heaven for our good deeds we know of the deeds that earned us paradise.

   Because, he doesn't know the outcome as he has given us free will - he doesn't know the future - if he knew the future he wouldn't bother giving us the opportunity of free will - that is the test. This is why he allows suffering to happen, because he also allows us the free will to intervene in suffering (believe it or not, I'm an atheist, but quiet moments lead to certain thoughts!).  This is all an exploration of free will vs determination.

   God doesn't test us, He allows us to be tempted. It gives us strength of character and an opportunity to learn from our mistakes. God also promises us a way out if temptation becomes too much to bear.

   God sometimes allows us to go through things to strengthen our faith. I know that I would not be the person I am if it were not for some of the things in life that I have gone through. Because of my past experiences or "tests," I am able to withstand more in life, and I am able to encourage and help others who may be going through the same.
   
   Can you think of any past situation in your life that presented itself as a test? Can you think of how overcoming it may have made you a better person in anyway? For example, more patient, caring, etc. And because God knows the future, he knows exactly which "test" it will take to bring out your strengths.
   
   Also, for some people. It takes the going through a "test" to have introspection or to acknowledge the presence of God.
   
   Remember, though. Not all challenges in life are tests. Some events are simply a result of evil being present in this world, including consequences of some of our on actions at times. But, if you are a believer in Christ, then you would believe that all things will work out for the good.

    God sends you opportunities in life to make decisions and choices. Through these choices we determine who we are. That is the only purpose of life.
    
    You are right that God already know past, present and future, but we humans like to define ourselves through the experience of life. God already knows all the answers.

    It's a learning process.. for Him. Just like a person gives someone a chance to do something, and is well aware it's not going to happen, but there is still that hope. God is forever hopeful in our abilities. The bible depicts stories of Him being angry, and giving lot multiple chances and warnings, and they do Him wrong again. He knew this; however, He was still hopeful in them.

    Listen closely, and I will show you the answer.
    
    The test is sort of an "If/Then" statement encoded into the very fabric of your eternal life. Each time God passes through your life, he, in fact, lives your life with you, thinks your thoughts with you.
    
    The test is for you and God jointly.
    
    The test is both the planted seed, and the harvest.
    
    Those who pass the test, by the bounty they produce, magnify God. When God is magnified, all lives are enlarged. When he comes again to your life, because he has changed, the test will be different.
    
    God knows the future he wants, and toward that end, the past and present must always be reworked.

    If we think logically then God can't know our future if He wants to test. Because, if He knows our fortune/future, then it's our destiny. As a result, we can't change the destiny even if we try so hard to change it. On the other hand, if we have the power to change the destiny by hard-try then He certainly does not know our future. Because, in this case, He has determined two destinies for us: one for good action and another for bad action. Even in this case, He can't know our destiny as we have two destinies (according how we act). We can reach to any destiny that solely depends on our action that we take.
    
    Thus, He can not know our future along with testing us. It's 'either' or 'or'. He either knows our future and we are performing according to His rule OR He is testing us and He does not know our future.

    because 'we' do not know our outcome.  There are alot of indepth reasons why God does this.  Have you ever heard the story of refining gold?  Or the testing of our faith?  Besides, have you seen in scripture where He is called our "Heavenly Father"?  A Heavenly Father speaks of relationship.....a going forth and in between.  Just as we know some of the outcomes already with our own children,  so God knows with us....only His is far more above us, where as we only know in part. )

    Many good answers. Except we all forget that God made us with free will. The fact that Adam and Eve made a decision to eat the forbidden fruit is proof that we can act against God's plan for our lives. Many times the so called "tests" are signals to us that these can be life changing moments.
    
    Remember Jonah and how God wanted him to go to Nineveh. The "tests" given to Jonah were to let him know he needed to get to where God needed him to be. Perhaps, when these trials and tests show up in our lives, we need to stop, think, and listen to what is really happening in our lives and why.

    God as I understands him has powers far beyond anything mankind can understand but here's my point.
    
    When we watch our young children playing on the sidewalk with their little ball and when that ball goes into the street we can look at the face of our child and know right way whether that kid is either going into that street or not-(just one example) however if God says he can tell what we are going to do then it becomes a big deal-"how can he do this?"

    A couple of reasons:
    
    To help us build our trust in Him.
    To help us understand His sufficiency for all of our needs.
    To help build our reliance on Him.
    To help draw us closer into a personal relationship with Him.
    To help us build a stronger testimony and walk through Him.
    To use us an example of His love, grace, mercy and power.
    To show us and others His working of modern-day miracles.
    To show us and others that He will bless us in spite of.
    To give people time to choose a path of righteousness and right living before he wipes “it” all out!
    
    God is patient and HE'S WAITING FOR US TO CHOOSE HIM!
    
    He doesn't want anyone to go to hell.
