   no i don't. i think people are mostly being racists when they ask such things. the secret service has cleared him , so if that isn't good enough, what's the use of having them in the first place. have you seen bush's birth certificate?

   Based on the last information that I read, he cannot produce it and neither can the State of Hawaii...seems there was a problem with some records being lost during that particular timeframe in the State's history...a convenient circumstance i suppose. WB

   You know good and well that if the President could produce his birth certificate he would. For some reason he can't. Whether that reason is because he knows that it will reveal undesirable things about his origins or just the fact that no one can find it is anybodies guess. But never in the history of the United States has any President ever been required by his constituents to display his birth certificate to the populace. And maybe that is something to consider.

   The answer, of course, is no.
   
   The State of Hawaii has confirmed he was born there. Heck, the newspapers of the time even show his birth announcement. As an earlier answerer already mentioned, even if he did provide the exact document the Birthers' have been yammering for, the whispers of 'forgery' would no doubt begin immediately.
   
   You want proof Obama was born on U.S. soil? Take a look at the amount of money, investigative power and political influence McCain and the GOP had at their disposal in 2008. What rational explanation can anyone give for them not denouncing Obama prior to the election?
   
   Don't like Obama? Fine. Let's talk about his politics, and shut up about one of the hokiest conspiracy theories of all time, because it's just distracting from more important debates.

   I agree with most of everybody that we should be more focused on policies rather than if he should, or should not be president! I asked the question because I am tired of hearing about the "lack of", or "missing" birth certificate!
   But, glenn is right! if a birth certificate is produced than I will have to listen about it being fake.

   My reading tells me that that question has already been answered by the State of Hawaii.  I believe that his whole issue has been promoted by those who oppose President Obama's political policies.

    It's amazing to me that it's not a requirement when you announce you're running for president. If I have to produce a birth certificate for my son to play baseball in the local league, it's only common sense that a presidential candidate should have to do the same.
    
    If Obama wanted to stop all the speculation, he would provide his birth certificate. Instead he's spent a couple million dollars to keep it secret, leading to speculation as to what's on it he doesn't want to get out.

    The constituion was signed but not even followed in the beginning of the UNITEDSTATES as the law. At least not to the letter as history shows.In many of their minds it was a con-vinence rather than something to be followed in all respects by them.They saw themselves as above the law that they required everyone else to follow just as our congress still does today. The birthcertificate wasn't around then I don't think.THEY RECORDED MOST BIRTHS IN THE FAMILY BIBLE.

    I think he should.  As a matter of fact, I think everyone who is in any political office should have to submit paperwork for their job JUST like the rest of us.  Everyone else who goes to work has to produce certain documents required by the I-9 to start work - why shouldn't those in political office?  Also, in response to an answer already listed, I am tired of this discussion or other discussions about President Obama being classified as racist.  Other Presidents have been called more names than I can count, had their integrity questionned and their charcter maligned.  I didn't agree with it then and I don't agree with it now, but let's not take the bait and call it racist please.

    It is up to those who claim he is not a citizen to prove it. Obviously, they have not if he's still in office and there's no larger-scale investigation, etc.
    
    Otherwise, the conspiracy theorists should give it up and move on. Jobs have gone poof, the housing market still sucks, the government might shut down in like two weeks, we have a budget to cut and where to cut is the driving issue, and there's foreign affairs to keep an eye on.
    
    Put out PROOF, not just "why I think he's not" or shut up and focus on the issues that could weaken/divide this nation faster than "is Obama is citizen or not?" ever could.
    
    I will say that I agree with the person that found it shocking that it is not required to even enter the race, even at the primary level.
    
    That's the one thing the theorists have brought to light, and SHOULD be dealt with. Everything else is just conspiracy and guessing with no facts to back it up - or else it would have run with real legs by those with real power.

    To respond to someones earlier answer, no he has not produced his Birth Certificate he produced a Certificate of Live Birth which just proves he was born and no ones in any doubt that he was born, the issue is where, so to answer the main question yes if he can produce it he should but also i agree right now they are other issues to be focused on but i doubt they are many that are more important than "did the current President usurp the United States Constituition?" i mean fine if you dont care about the constitution or the declaration of independence then fine dont worry about how many ways you could get screwed without the constitution being in place dont worry about liars and thieves in washington go home put your feet up turn on CNN and watch the demise of the free world from the comfort of your armchair
