Why do people try so hard to prove that there is no God
......that everything happening is pure luck or whatever they think helps them achieve it
How unfortunate it is for people to work hard disproving the existence of God! I cannot imagine a person to nurture an idea that there is no God. Try to help them if you can. Explain to them in a more Christian way that they are wrong. Thanks and may God bless us all. More power to you.
Sir_Tallest, that is an interesting question and one I have often wondered about. What is it about our faith that causes such a volatile response from non-believers?
If someone tells me they are a non-believers, I accept that, I don't try and wrestle them kicking and screaming to Christ. Christ knows who they are, and we cannot coerce someone into believing--the Holy Spirit has the task. But, so many non-believers spend hours in the forums (here and other places) berating us and trying to give us logical reasons that there is no God. They get downright nasty.
I cannot imagine my life with my faith.
I will never be an atheist or agnostic, but I believe folk try to convince themselves that there is no God because they do indeed believe. Thanks, Nikki D. Felder
For the same reason people try to prove that one does exist...
Disclaimer: I'm neither for or against this position, just playing Devil's Advocate (that didn't help either...horrible pun)
We all want to prove that our perception of the world is real. No matter how hard we try though, there will always be those who differ in opinion. Truth thus is more internal than anything; that's how we get by without going crazy.
People on both sides can take it too far though in the debate; there's no need for that in an otherwise reasonable discussion.
It is always the case when someone finds that what they want in life but did not get then they will think there is no God. People tend to envy those who believe in God and have been helping them through their lives.
One has to know that it is with TRUE FAITH and belief in God then they will be blessed with happiness in life.
Instead of trying so hard to prove there is no God, why not having faith in God to help themselves in life.
The fool in his heart say there is no GOD. Plain and simple this is the answer. There is still hope for that person as long as they are alive on the earth before they die and go to the other side of death of which I have seen and expierience it on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning in a vision that GOD shown me the other side of death. Just the facts.
Dear Sir, (_Tallest)
I agree that some do try very hard to try to prove that there is no God, often with arguments that can neither be 100% proven or 100% disproven.
But! don't believers try so hard in trying to preach that theirs is the "one and only" God?
I personally am not a believer, though my belief was very strong several years ago (people change?).
Religion is a comfort, a relief from the harsh realities of life that we all face, so if one believes in their God, then to them, their God exists?
I believe that the concept of God is purely to comfort believers. For many it is depressing to think that after death, live ceases to exist.
Being an atheist, I do not believe things happen due to pure luck, (I do not believe in luck) I believe that nothing can be known and all knowledge is purely a measurement of that of which we cannot comprehend.
With that being said, Christianity (and the bible) has a lot more flaws than the concept of evolution, therefore I'll choose science over belief.
works on the same principle as people trying to prove so hard there is a God, people are afraid od being wrong so that try hard to prove themselves right
I don’t have to try hard at all, The fact that there is no God is one of pure logic.
For many to believe there is, is simply an act of centuries of repeated religious rhetoric which continues to this day.
Go to any church service and you can hear it, an annual cycle of the same stories repeated year in year out. It’s called indoctrination. In some religious sects this indoctrination borders upon brainwashing but the effect is the same.
For those interested enough to follow a path backward through history it is possible to see that man invented both the Gods and religion for his own needs.
Whether you choose to believe this or ignore it is of little relevance to me, we are all free to follow a path to individual enlightenment or to stay in the herd or mass delusion is our own choice.
for me it's because i hate seeing people use their minds to believe in fiction. it makes people lose faith in others and they seem to use god and satan as an excuse for their behavior. plus god has been pushed on us for long enough, it's time to push back.
..the same reason that some people try so hard to prove that there is... God
Is simply because devil has seized them completely. And they have been in the darkness to the extent they fail to feel God presence.
They fear what implications there would be on there life if they were to accept that they had no control.
From the word itself : "they try so HARD to prove that there is no God"-- they find it very difficult to prove wrong that is actually is right. How come that devils believe that there's a God and non-believers whom God created in his likeness don't believe Him? Yes, devils believe that there's a God and they shudder!
Simple, to validate their own beliefs (that goes both ways).
However, one reason why many athiests spend their time trying to "prove" their is no god is because they're bombarded by so much religious stuff and prosteltyzing back is a way to level the playing field, so to speak.
People have been given free will, to make choices, by the very same God that they have choosen to deny. If they were to acknowledge that He exists, they would then be responsible for answering to Him. That's what they don't want to do. They would rather live life doing their own thing. Indeed, "The fool has said in his heart, There is no God." (Psalm 14:1). However, "The Heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork." (Psalm 14:1). Speaking of "logic"...It is far more logical to believe in an eternal Creator than it is to believe that we began as cosmos or dust or whatever your imagination comes up with. Since becoming a believer, I've been astounded at hearing and experiencing countless prayers being answered. I can hardly consider that to be fiction!
Usually because they're tired of being the ones oppressed by others that do believe in god.
Because ...
Such ones ... are a doting "Mama Logics'n'Science's" spoiled Brats ... Mama Science's Logic ... provides them with 'things' ... like food, recognition, and the surreptitiously handed Candies, of jobs ... Research Grants ... in fact whatever they may crave, provided Mama can provide ... even at the expense of others ... to the disadvantage, of their siblings.
So...
These brats have to defend Mama's rights and wrongs, defend Mama's Beliefs, and actions ... Because, their little toys, their joys filled world, and their petty happinesses ... are linked with Mama staying in authority.
Thats why they defend ... fully knowing, Mama's a fool and her logics are nonsense ... these little hypocrites !

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...

I see a lot of religionists trying to argue that their faith is not really faith. It is either "proven" because god found their car keys or whatever. Or the same as having faith that evolution happens because evolution was not videotaped as it happened. Or arguing that it is...

If God is like a light switch in a dark room, why is it so hard to show it to a non-believer?This appeared in a forum post recently:"They are led to stand before the doorstep of a dark room ~ and encouraged to discover if there is any light-switch ('God') inside it. The only way to find out ~...

The following post is in response to a statement made by another hubber and the many posts I've read using logical fallacies:"the burden of proof" is NOT on the believers. There is no burden to prove He exists because it is by FAITH that we believe. It is by faith we called on to believe....

OMG! (the "G" stands for Gawd, not God) - what is with these athiests?I am not a youngster. And I am not a believer. But I am envious of the serenity true believers appear to find in their life.Now... don't try to proselytize to me, and don't try to prove your faith is the only truth. It...

Do you think god was given a name out of fear?Let me explain my logic, which would you be more terrified of? If a doctor told you that you have a serious case of the Flu or if the doctor told you that you have an unknown illness? Most of you will immediately answer the unknown illness, even if it's...
