    How much should you pay someone to keep an eye on your house?

    Tasks: Check doors and windows, pick up stray mail.

    I would say $10 a day. It's a task that takes under 10 minutes and a $1.00 a minute seems fine. If they have to drive out of their way, make it $15 since gas seems to only be getting higher!

    I've been paid between $75 - $100 a week to watch the houses of my friends.

    Does the home owner have dogs? We are currently house-sitting a large home with two dogs. What makes this more difficult is that the house is for sale, so realtors are constantly showing it. These added responsibilities have brought the price up to about 500 dollars a week.

    thank you for your answers...keep 'em coming!  It's great to have your input because no one wants to get short changed.  In this case, there are no dogs or any  other pets...also the person would not stay in the house - he lives next door.
