How do I know someone is taking advantage of me?

Example: When you are always there for your friend/family, advice or just listening to their problems. You may offer support by inviting them to join you for lunch or a special event to cheer them up. When things are great for them in their personal life, you never hear from them.
"Flying High, you don't hear from them.
Down in the dumps, they can't get enough of you!"
Solution: Keep your distance or tell them how you feel. In my opinion, not a true friend or in case of a family member....still a user!

If they try to guilt trip you (make you feel guilty about things you shouldn't) And you feel that they are getting more from you than you from them, then they are taking advantage of you. People do favors for others, because someone did something for them. If you are doing favors, without being repaid, it defeats the entire purpose, and just means you are being used.
You should never be second guessing if one person is putting more in a relationship than the other person, if you are, then one of you is being taken advantage of.

When you start to question whether they are taking advantage of you

You know when someone is taking advantage of you when it's not an advantage to you. Basically, if it doesn't feel good, and they do it over and over, then you are probably being taken advantage of.

I will bet you that it is happening if you think it is happening. Sounds like its someone close to you and so long as you believe in yourself a little bit and trust your own instincts then well, try to protect yourself more because your probably right.
    :-) Hope this helps some.

If you get the ah-o feeling when you feel something isn't quite right and think to yourself, Ah-O, something doesn't seem right about this, then you will know something is wrong.

Some people would say that when everything is going right, in either your personal life or your business, it's time to start thinking about changing things to keep ahead of the pack. if you don't someone is getting ready or is already taking advantage of you.

This is not necessarily the way I feel but more than a few people have expressed this sentiment in the past.

You know that someone is taking advantage of you when your unconditional desire to help or be there for them become dim.  If you are a giving individual that loves your friends and family, giving and doing anything for them never allows you to feel stressed or fatigued when doing it.  A slight disturbance of any kind that interrupts that unconditional desire (sort of like the one that has made you ask this question) says it all!  CiaO

You say to yourself, I wish they were able to give back one too many times. Of everything you have of valueis gone.

If you ever feel the way you felt when you decided to write this question...someone is taking advantage of you.  But don't flip on them automatically, first tell them how you feel.  If they change their ways they deserve another chance, if not step back for awhile until you decide what you want to do next.  Good luck beautiful.
