   What do you do when you cannot find anything interesting to write about?
   
   I have been in a funk for a few days now and it is driving me crazy as I cannot seem to come up with something to write about.

   I know the feeling.  My problem is that when I get away from my computer. . . .I start getting a million ideas about things to write about - but as soon as I sit down in front of the thing again. . . .the sort of vanish!
   
   Take a brisk walk, or hop on a bicycle and take off, after the blood gets all going - you'll get some ideas!

   Yeah, I knew that feeling.. What I managed to do is I made a word document, where I put all ideas 24/7.I tuned my mind to look at any information I get (TV, news, talks with people, items I meet every where) through the filter of "Is it interesting topic to write about? Can I write about it?". If I answer yes to both questions, I put this topic idea in my word document. And this works pretty well! For now I have at least 20-30 topic ideas waiting for me to write about. If it doesn't help or I'm too lazy to gather information about some topic, I just write recipes about anything I cook. I hope it helps!

   When that happens to me, one thing I do is hang out here, on the Q & A page. I answer a few questions, occasionally pose one of my own, and this helps snap me out of the "funk." In fact, I have gotten many ideas for hubs from the Q & A in the past and will probably do so again.

   Like Wesman, I find that most of my ideas for stories come when I am away from my computer.  I started carying sticky notes with me.  Now when someone says "I didn't know that!" or "That's a good way of putting that" I take out my sticky notes.  I tell the person I am a writer and I need to "jot that down."  They love to see that and ask where they can see my work:)

   I tend to just spend time reading hubs or questions. I also browse around the net. If I'm really stuck I just put a topic I like into the search engines and see what comes up. Quite a few times I've hit on an idea for a hub.

    Sometimes I will just sit there in quiety and think... I think of anything that comes to mind and if it sticks I will keep the idea to write about.

    I have never had that problem. I don't have time to get all my ideas written! You might want to Google writer's prompts. There are many sites out there  to give one a starting phrase or sentence.

    Get out and about and experience some fun.  That shoud always be fodder for  a new writing experience.  Look into the deep dark recesses of your family history and I bet you can find interesting facts about your ancestors to write about.

    If you go on living your life, you're bound to find something to write about.  I hang out with highly creative people, and they always inspire me.  Some write, some don't.  We are all artists.

    life experiences give me the best ideas ~ when something happens to me that has an impact, eventually a way to write about it comes to mind.

    I think one of the biggest contributors to writers block is trying too hard. I just go about my life and wait until inspiration strikes me. I find that this makes the writing more enjoyable, while also enhancing the reader's experience.
    You can always tell when you are reading an article written by someone with a real passion or interest in the topic.
    So I would say you should just wait for inspiration. Sorry if that answer seems like more of a cop out than anything.

    Great question that I find myself struggling with a lot...I usually look through my interests, and find something interesting  to read/watch, as well as look around answers/hubs on hubpages to get my mind working. Stepping away from the computer helps too.

    I turn on one of my favorite cds and I find a secluded place. A place where there would be no distractions and I write whenever the inspiration comes.

    If I am in a block I look for quotes.  I google for quotes that best describe my current mood and then just go.  Usually, I end up on some random tangent but at least I am out of the apathy.

    Look around you.  When you go out to the store, gas station, etc.  look around you closely.  You're bound to find ideas within your surroundings.  That's what I do and it works.
