Hello EQ. I used to worry about the forecasts of the end of the world.

I remember once in about 1971, there was a forecast that the world would end at 2:45 pm on a school day afternoon. I was 10 at the time and was terrified I would never go home again.

When the clock on the classroom wall passed 2:50pm dozens of my school friends began crying. They too had been in the same position.

Now having seen about six end of the world predictions come and go. I pretty much scoff. It will certainly end one day. Either For my own person in death or a total end of the world. But I don't take much time to worry about either course. They'll come in their own time. Whether I worry or not.

well put Bret. as u say theres been a few but most of them are based of very vague predictions. currently everyone seems to be panicking because the next doomsday is 21st december 2012. but as with all the others that date will come and go and nothing will happen. the world will end at somepoint and it will either be natural (the planet has run its cycle) or by an act of man.

That's a pretty good question given all of the scenarios that seem to be happening right now.

Personally, I don't worry too much about the end of the world. For me, worrying about stuff like that is the same as worrying about whether or not a bus will crash into my bedroom while I'm sleeping, or if a moose on a rampage will attack me while I'm at the grocery store. Sure, there's a very remote chance that those could happen (and by remote I mean I have a better chance of winning the lottery ten times, using the money to buy an island, and finding out the island is really made of solid gold) but it's not very likely to, and even if it did, there's not much I can do to prevent it from happening.

I prefer to live my life rather than fearing the end of it. It all seems scary when you start to hear all of the horrible thing that would happen, but I think that spending my whole life worrying about the end of the world would keep me from enjoying the world!

I am not at all worry about this end of the world stuff.Check the past history of all this type of superficial predictions..And today, we all are very much alive and safe.Nothing is going to happen. When God, will predict this End of the world stuff, then only we should believe in this.Till such time enjoy.

I don't believe it's the end of the world litereally and we will not exist. I think maybe we will be moving into a new and better age. The world is changing. All we can do is wait and see what happens smile

honestly, not in the least. i know it's all just mumbo-jumbo and something that fools try to justify. life isn't some great mystery or some spiritual existence, it's just life. we live, we die and that's it. the planet is the same. when it does end, unless war causes it, not one person will know when it is going to happen. party on.

    What's to worry about ?

Can you do anything to stop it happening ?  Assuming it's going to happen... which it will one day I suppose !

My Grandmother used to say  "Die if you worry Die if you don't, so why worry... just take life as it comes 'cos you're going to spend a long time dead."

Not a bad philosophy for a healthy life and an un-furrowed brow wouldn’t you agree ?

I think of the end of the world and hope to be prepared, when that day come.
