   I do my best not to. I feel that when poetry is corrected, the power behind the moment is taken away.

   I normally don't pay attention to punctuation. The line breaks do the trick.

   Of course! Punctuation should be a part if the poem.
   
   A poet should never underestimate the power of punctuation. A dash, a comma, a colon ... and ellipse.. parenthesis, they all carry meaning and add to the power of the words they enclose. They are responsible for the flow of the poem, the breaks, the sighs, the breaths, the anticipation, the proclamations, the questions, and endings.
   
   Every good poet will use punctuation properly to help establish the flow of the poem.

   I never look for punctuation, nor do I edit.  There are many poets who don't bother with punctuation, they just let it flow.  When I write poetry I may add a period if I think the reader should marinate on the thought, or I will breeze thru and add the period at the end...for affect. 
   
   Poetry is something so uniquely personal that it is above correction.  It would be like critiquing a sneeze or editing a cough.  Poetry, if it's done right, pure and true - comes from the soul.  Who are we to edit someone's soul?
   
   Poetry can be as real as a touch or it can transcend all logic.  Poetry, just is.

   I use punctuation as a guide for the reader to better know how it intended to flow, so yes.  Punctuation is something I observe.

   It does depend on the poem.  Punctuation in a poem can, in some instances, be the poem!  &$%!  Okay, so that was my attempt at humor, but seriously, punctuation in a poem can be out of place and still be right where it is needed.
