Hub views have increased exponentially over the past few days, yet earnings have not increased.

Why do you do think this is?

Something is going on... It is not just involving revenue either... it seems to be more wide-spread.  whatever it is, I wish they would discuss it.  It does not feel very friendly.

Hi davenmidtown, what do you think is going on? I'm interested to hear your thoughts. smile Going by my increase in traffic, at present, i should have approx. 8 times more in terms of income, but nope just pittens. I still love writing articles regardless, but it would be great to have a little bit more of an income.

I have noticed on other sites that sometimes the income increases a few days after I have a surge in views.  Perhaps this is a sign of good things to come!

It just means that people are viewing your hubs, but not necessarily clicking on ads or links.  That happens to me on a couple of other sites as well.  My views will jump and I'll see 0 revenue, or my views can drop and the revenue will jump.

I understand totally what you say, and yes I feel sort of of the same way. I love writing as well. Yes, It would be nice to have more of an income. Now days that would be awesome, because we are living in the recession.

It's probably due to the change in URL for all Hubpages accounts. I've noticed many of my hubs climbing up on search engines off late. However, this doesn't mean that there would an increase in ad CTR.

Honestly speaking, the ad placement on Hubpages is terrible. It damages CTR tremendously. After having experimenting with ad placement on over 30 sites of my own, I must say that the placement of the first ad box here is just illogical. Since that's the one with the higher CPC, most people ending up only a fraction of what they could do with better placement.
