Why would anyone answer that?  Isn't that more or less between the individual and his Creator?

    No, I am not.............

I have ridden my life of many " things"...........

Looking to the growing garden, or as of late, the burning one, the stars or the stormy skies..........watching the ripples in the water..........etc, these are the things that inspire me to speak with God.

From time to time I find myself "wanting" things or feeling as if I need things... I find myself pushing God aside. When I realize it, I stop and when I do stop the wanting and supposed "needing", God provides for me. I am human like everyone else and we all "want" things. We just have to realize, there is wanting and getting... and then there is obsession and materialism.

No, I think that I am more closer to God. Although materialism and humankind are different words. Materialism is something physical world, where we concentrate on ourselves more, while humankind is a different aspect. I think humankind is a way to reach God. Because God created the universe and we are their sons and duaghters. If we are helping someone or I mean if we are intersted in humankind, then in other way we are sering to God.
So in my opinion if we are involved in helping others that we are serving God. It is just like if we are helping son, then certainly his parents will be more happy.

    Hi there.
    Nice question.
To be honest, i think i have been more close to the latter than the first 2.
I have had to learn the value of humanity and materiality.
And not want to get away from both.
And search to be in some spiritual state.
    And what about you!

    :-)

I have to support lots of people and materialism is a reality. You cannot help a lot of people practically if you do not have money. You need money to feed and clothe people or to simply help them.

    It is written somewhere ...

I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.

What I have found is that almost everyone who claims to be close to God are most unwilling to help people in a practical way. These people run away when they face a problem that is going to inconvenience them .

As for practical advice is it not also written somewhere ...?

"Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?"

How can we help people if we do not have money? Money is material is it not?

So, the answer I give is Yes! I am more close to materialism and humankind than to God.

oddly, I see that as a synonymous question in a sense. I get confused on the question of gifts and doing well by being in charge of a little then receiving more and manifestation
