No, I don't think you see someone across the road and instantly fall in love with them, nor do I think one conversation locks you in a relationship from here and the beyond. That's all storybooks and overrated love films. I think a relationship can blossom from a first chat if both enjoy each other company, but I don't believe you can instantly hit off - that's my view, though.

Definitely not. One cannot tell what another is truly like from just appearances. A complete guess, yes, but true insight into the other person's personality, no. And then that would lead to the issue of profiling, which is usually a negative matter.

But I do believe in "ohh he's hot" (or she) at first sight wink

Actually the second I saw a certain someone I was smitten and just had to get to know him. We dated a couple of years and then life happened and now 21 years later we ran into each other again and I remembered what was so great about him and am smitten all over again!

i do .. but i think it is more of a severe case of infatuation and fantasy that sends the thrill up the spine of the person concerned. it's an absolutely enigmatic feeling to be smitten with love-at-first-sight HOWEVER the feeling should still be sorted out and be refined, and not just jump into a serious relationship, the feelings might eventually change. more power to couples who are able to sustain that spark from their first sight; and, better-luck-next-time to those who didnt make it. ~ m

    Love at first sight? NO/YES.

For me, knowing you, your true self, likes, habits, goals and conduct are the things that can endear one to my heart. Without these, then how can love develop except lust.

If you see somebody for the first time, someone you know nothing about and conclude that you ve fallen in love, i tell you that relationship will not last cos you fell in lust not love.

Though some people do believe in love at first sight, i think it can happen only if you ve known the person from afar. Like when you have a feeling for somebody, you learn about the person from others, what they say, how the person relates with others. It is from what people say about him/her that will make you love the person. In that case, is it still love at first sight.
Maybe it works for some. For me, that is the only way possible.

I do not believe in love at first sight, however, this is my personal opinion. I feel to love someone and to want to spend the rest of your life with that person - one requires a level of understanding and compatibility which is not possible by simply taking a look at someone that you find attractive.

I don't myself, but i know some people say it can happen. It takes time to love someone for me. x

To be honest I don't think love at 1st sight happens - but the spark of love and attraction does happen at 1st sight.

As you then develop that spark with subsequent meetings it flourishes into Love.

I use to but now I just believe love is flawed. I use to be such a hopeless romantic, got my heart stomped on two many times to the point where it is basically the size of the grinches pre christmas heart. Could that change maybe, but it would take one guy to prove to me that they aren't all the same (sorry men, please don't take offence, deep down I know you all arent the same)

I didn't until I met my husband.  I had been married twice before and had never experienced anything like this.  When I saw him, literally bells and fireworks went off and I could not remember who I was.  I was immediately beyond intrigued.  It lasted 25 great years.  The experts say it's only lust, and while that may be part of it, I had an immediate fondness for him.
