Do you think that a lot of people get divorced because the husband is not making enough money?

A friend of mine was having trouble with his wife because she was mixing with a group of women who were always praising their husband's earning abilities. He had to plead with her to stop socializing with this group of women because he felt that what they were teaching her would destroy their marriage since she would come home and ask him "Why aren't you doing this job or that business -don't you know you could me more successful like Miss X>CC's wife is ?
Do you think that he did the right thing?

People get a divorce for selfish, illogical reasons like pride, envious of others relationship, control, "confused" not "happy"  whatever!  Whatever they feel is suffice enough to call it quits.  A content and happy woman will not get "caught up" with hear say.....Go figure

yes he did the right thing ... those friends of hers are all materialistic people. if it would not lead to divorce it would lead to hell for both of them on this earth.

There are numerous reasons why people get divorced. Everyone is entitled to have their own “deal breakers”.
I am certain a lack of income potential may be a reason for some folks. However in your friend’s case it sounds as though his wife was “content” with their lifestyle until her friends began to brag about their husbands’ income.
“Keeping up with the Jones” is a vicious game.
There will always be someone who has more than you and there will always be someone who has less than you. (Each of us has to determine our own goals financially or otherwise.)
A real “friend” should not be considered one's “rival”.

Some people get divorced for that reason, but its pretty supreficial and shallow. Would you really want to stay married to a person who only saw you as a cash machine?

As a woman, I think he made a mistake.

If she'd divorce him because he doesn't make enough money, she' s a phoney and not worth having. He should find someon who loves HIM

If she's asking uncomfortable questions because of the beliefs of her friends, they should sit down and talk things out, coming to a resolution they both can live with

His mistake is telling her not to see her foolish friends. Some women are obsessed with money, and that can be a problem, but they're not worth having.

All women, on the other hand, like to have control of ther own lives. If he tells her who she can or cannot see, this creates a grievance which could, with other things, lead to conflict in their marriage and divorce. If he explains why he's concerned about them, she may see his point and decide to stop herself, but at least she will now be aware of how her friends' greediness is creating problems in her marriage
