Did you join HubPages for the writing or for the money?
I have recently joined Hubpages and was mostly interested in rediscovering my love for writing. However, the opportunity to earn money naturally interested me, too.
If you join the site for the sole purpose of earning cash, I don't think you'll be impressed. It takes some people a long time to earn anything, much less a passive income. I love writing and reading so I came for those things, the cash is an added incentive.
For the writing and the great community here, money is just a bonus!
I joined for the writing. I did not expect to make any money here when I started.
The first thing you should keep in mind is that the most important thing you need to do on HubPages is to write quality stuff. Making money out of it should be the secondary thought.
I joined because I love writing too. The money is good, but its slow. And I was very happy to start seeing the fruit of my labor.
It takes time though, as you won't see it write away. You have to use the tools provided by Hubpages, and be maleable in your style. I do this by reading what others write, and looking for feedback.
I agree with Steve, I love to read and write as well and if money were to be made it would just be a little bonus.
Writing. I have a bad tendency. Much like DaVinci, I constantly leave unfinished projects. Hubpages would be a website that could force me to continue to write constantly. Plus I don't really care about money. As long as I have food to eat, clothes, a place to live, I'm happy. It can even be a motel and I'm fine.
For the writing. I enjoy having a forum for my writing. I also enjoy reading others work. No money made yet after a very long membership---so yes, just for the writing.
I wasn't even aware of the possibility of earning money when I registered. But now that I see it being mentioned so often around here, I start to think I should give it a try.
I initially joined hoping to make a little money doing something that I already love to do. But now that I'm here it's become less about the money and more about me just being able to practice my writing and being apart of a warm and supportive community. As cheesy as that sounds lol.
Writing. Like most of the answers, the money is just a bonus!
