Did you ever have a turning point in your life?

We all have had times where we change as people. When was your turning point and what caused it to happen?

I had mine a few times, but the most recent one happened a few months ago when I switched jobs. I just realized being at a job with some shady people wasn't worth the money and grief. The older I get I just want to get rid of anybody in my life that is creating any negativity in my life.

Oh yes and it wasn't pretty, but oh so necessary. If was very freeing.

I was going to say our first baby, which was something of a turning point. Then I reread your question and I realized my real turning point was walking away from an ugly job environment, then out of a shady environment; but it all began with taking that first step out of this one company. The aftermath in the short term was not pretty, but as I look back now I believe it was the right move, and a step towards self-realization.

I left a political group. When I began it felt like we were trying to make our town a better place. But in a few years, it was all about certain people's egos, and not about the original goals. I wasn't perfect either, I didn't like who I was with this group of people. None of them could make decisions, or do what they said they would do at the right time. I'm too compulsive to work like that. I still have relationships with some of the people, but don't get involved in their politics, only my own if I care about an issue.

I've been in many work places and there's always been at least one person who makes life difficult. i think these people are hard to avoid.
I can't change them, but i can change the way i respond to them;  this realisation has been my biggest turning point.
Admittedly it's not always easy to change a lifetime of attitudes and responses to difficult situations and sometimes it's better to walk away.
But as they say, "you can run but you can't hide".

There are two big recent ones. My divorce but then finding true love. He left me because I was sick. My Fiance loves me despite it. Much of the negativity in my life is gone now too. Even though I am ill, coping with day to day is much easier with someone who is supportive. I learned who my true friends are too. It makes for a good life.

I agree with the sentiment that if a work environment is bad and causing stress and health problems, then it is not worth the money and is better to get.

One, when I had my first child.  Everything changed, my focus, my attitudes.  It was the best thing that ever happened to me and changed how I view the world.

so many! moving to another country was the first big one, caused by my parents who always believed that the grass was greener on the other side. getting pregnant was the second...i don't think i have to explain how that one was caused. leaving the sperm donor who caused me to get pregnant was the third... caused by him mistreating both my baby and myself too many times making life with him unbareable. getting married was the forth; caused by falling in love with a man who made our lives more than bareable. finally finding the job that i actually wanted was the fifth; caused by lots of hard work, trial and error.

those are the five that i can't choose from. i suppose if i had to choose one, it would be becomming a parent, i don't think any event can change a person more. there are many many more however! just having a nice neighbor move in can turn your life around :-)!

GOD!!! Complete change from before I was saved until now! And I'm still growing in Him!! Life isn't easy, but it's definitely easier when you know that your plan is already set and that you are in God's hands.

If someone wants to know what it's like, msg me or comment on one of my hubs! It's crazy how much we are loved by the creator of the Universe! Literally crazy

Do you mean a significant one? Or just the ordinary every day, second or two, drawing of breathe?

Maybe the fact we were given life itself? Perhaps it is only an accident to receive that gift? Some seem to waste it? Maybe I am?

We all wish to dream we are significant? Why not? The crown of creation? What is a turning point? It is as everyday, as the fractals of life.

It is the recognition of the points that makes them so.

Otherwise, phssst it's gone. Next breathe, please!
