What makes a person feel most secure?

Great question! We can address this from many levels, such as being secure with one's self, being secure with family and being secure in the wider world.

A sense of the future can help provide security. That's why kids (and pets) do well with routines: They know when to expect food and play. Having a sense of a shared future can also help to bond romantic partners or members of a community.

There are different types of security:
    financial security,
    job security,
    emotional security,
    relational security,
    spiritual security (beliefs),
    physical security (environmental, including home),
    identity security, and
    health/fitness security.

So, to me the answer to this question, as is, would be achieving what ever level your require in each area to be secure overall. But the answer for each person will be different, as each person has different needs, and different levels of those needs.

We all want to feel accepted by society, whether we admit it or not, but I think that security in any real sense comes from financial stability, the presence of love in our lives, a healthy body and being able to express ourselves understandably to others in ways that perfectly reflect our true intentions and feelings.

I have to agree with these guys. Being secured comes in various degrees. It might be religious, social, interpersonal and others. I guess, this question is really vague. smile

I can only answer for myself. What makes me secure is the trust others have in me, people's belief in me, the reassuring looks I get from my partner when I'm feeling anxious, and my own self confidence that I can cope with anything that comes my way.

Hmm...knowing how to fight (which is why, people who know martial arts, soldiers, cops or body builders are generally more secure about their safety), having a gun or if you are really a hopless geek, but is rich enough (hire a body guard!!!)

PS: Personal experience, gangsters are generally very insecure, that is why they always talk tough and act tough and why they join a gang, hoping the number would provide them with protecting.  In reality, inside every gangster, there is a frightened little girl smile

You will feel emotionally secure when you have someone to love you and you will feel financially secure when you have a good bank balance.

Feeling that nobody could harm you if God doesn't want.
If God want, that mean there is a lesson to learn.

it depends on person to person, for some it is love which makes them feel secured for some it is financial security.financial security, for a sick person it is love and health security.

    HAPPINESS
most people who are happy in their lives are generally quite secure.

I think that a person's upbringing is very influencial. If a person is made to feel insecure as a child, those insecurities will often haunt them for a lifetime.

loving and reliable family and friends

and the material stuff---job, home, money
