I wake up every day with my fingers so stiff and swollen but they say I'm too young for arthritis.

Any suggestions for what this could be or remedies I should try?

No one is too young for inflammation in the body, it may not be "arthritis".  It could be other things going on.  I would suggest looking into "anti inflammatory foods" or dietary help and supplements for dealing with chronic inflammation.

I know when I started eating right for my body a lot of joint pain and other issues I had subsided greatly.  There's merit in it.  I hope you find what helps you.

Also there are some supplements out there that could help - glucosamine, msm, and others.  I would look for a copy of the prescription for nutritional healing (or look through it at your local library if you don't want to buy a copy) there would be many suggestions in there for joint pain etc.

and of course it goes without saying seek medical advice as well smile.  Good luck

    Hello aDayinMyLife1

Unfortunately, that is not true.  You could be a young child and have arthritis.  I have a disease fibromyalgia and I have physical spine damage, so in the beginning I thought my arthritis was that.  However, it really is arthritis.  I was fortunate enough to catch an episode of Dr. OZ and a lady from India said they wake up everyone morning and rub themselves from head to toe with Sesame Seed Oil, so I tried it.  It works.  I can now move my fingers, before that I could not.

Try before you go to bed at night getting Sesame Seed Oil and massaging where you you the arthritis and see how you feel in a few days.  Another suggestion, during that day at any point you can do it.  Stand up straight and stretch side to side, your arms out straight and do circles, with your legs stretch them as much as you can.  See if that helps.

Please let me know if this works.

I hate to say it, but you're never to young for arthritis-- especially if it runs in your family or you have a job that is very hands-on (ie: construction, painting, gardening-- anything that requires you to grip tools/objects on a frequent basis).

The only way to know for sure if it is arthritis is to get examined by a doctor. However, there are a few other things that could be causing your swelling. For instance, you could have a problem with blood circulation. Or, you might have too much salt in your diet.

Personally, I treat my mild arthritis with a combination of pain pills and vitamins. Vitamin D and extra Calcium seem to help. I also find that heating pads can help reduce the swelling and loosen up my stiff hands.

First port of call would be to make sure you are eating healthily. That shoudl help, but other than that, I would recommend a doctor.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions. Doctors haven't been helpful yet so I'll try some of the remedies suggested and then possibly a new doctor.  I'll keep everyone posted. And please keep the suggestions coming.

    Hi aDayInMyLife1

Unfortunately, it is what you put into your body that will flare this inflammation!
I myself in my 30's had big toe arthritic pain leading onto one of my fingers flaring up & few years later too. I was married then & all we ate were more or less take ways & cheap processed food & money saving ready meals.
Later I became divorced & cooked all by myself, good natural stuff, proper ingredients then, without further ado, my pains went never to return ohlala.

2 years ago I was asked to stand in as security for our local community fire works display, they fed me free of charge, cheap hot dogs in baps, I must have had about 7 or 8 that night, but later on, my god, my toe hurt & my even finger once again.

White sugar, rubbish! Some dairy, rubbish! Wheat maybe, rubbish! any chemically (processed) foods to enable a longer shelf life,,,RUBBISH.

    Regards Dale
