What are you most thankful for today, and how will you express that thanks?

I am thankful for life and earthly time, for I am not yet all that I can become.  Today offers a new chance to become what will make me (and through me, perhaps others) most happy, most peaceful, most productive in a real sense that has eternal consequences.  If I do less than I am capable of doing, aren't I saying "Christ isn't worth any more than that?  I must do my best for Christ as he did his best for me. I must not be an unprofitable servant for so loving a master who dying for me gave me the challenge to be even as he was and is.  Godliness is profitable in all things.  God bless you.

Great question and I love what you've said.  It is always good to think about what one is grateful for!  I'm grateful for so much--big and small.  I am grateful my staff meeting got canceled today--allowed me to stay in  my PJ's all day and rest and catch up on some freelance work.  I needed that.  I am thankful that my husband drove around in the snow today and came back home to me safe.  I'm thankful for my amazing family and friends.  I am thankful for a place to live and that my husband and I have jobs.  I am thankful for my spiritual community and all the ways I've been loved and given love and how we've grown together.  I am thankful for the peace that surpasses all understanding that comes from Jesus.  He's teaching me to hold an inner peace, even when things around me are like a storm.  I'm thankful for his unconditional love and that I'm learning to follow His plans instead of mine.  I'm thankful for my computer and internet and the lives that God will touch through people like you and me who love Jesus and are willing to love others with grace and truth through the power of the written and spoken word.  And--I'm thankful for coffee, my blankets, pillows, and candles.  :-)

I am thankful that the Lord sees inside my heart and He doesn't turn away in disgust. He does not see the the flaws but instead like a great sculptor he sees the finished piece of art. He takes his tools that can chip away at the hardest granite and shatters the hard stone. He keeps working, until he gets to the core, where rests the true me in Jesus. I believe this is how I will express my gratitude today!  Tomorrow I will find another way to do so, for you have inspired me!

Well, in general I am thankful that my mother's chemotherapy does not seem the be giving her the normal side effects. As for today- January 13, 2012, I am thankful for my family (celebrating two birthdays today!) and will show that with birthday cards, thoughts and loving prayers. Secondly, I am so thankful my sweetheart is going to pick me up from work today so that I don't have to wait in the snow for the bus and take the long drive home. I'll show him how thankful I am by making him a delicious home cooked dinner. Also- saying thank you- I want them to know how much I love having them in my life.
