    About Advertising with Hubs.

    I am a newbee and was interested in Fuel Fireplaces. I found several by Hubber SOOTHING COMPANY and am now intrigued. Most of its hubs present pure advertising for products. Therefore my question: Is this a common practice here and what are the limits? One Hub as an example: http://soothingcompany.hubpages.com/hub … -Fireplace
    Sorry SOOTHING COMPANY, no offense meant, but its really bothering me.... Anyone answer that question. Thank you sooo much :-))

    You'll probably find now that it's been pointed out that hub and other like it may be removed. Hubs are like articles designed to give information and enlighten people. If then the people find your stuff interesting they will usually follow your link/s. Throwing a blatant ad at someone usually gets ignored and the person bounces off the page

    The guidelines are pretty clear. Purely promotional hubs are not acceptable.

    It's important that you report Hubs which are nothing but a big ad for something. It cheapens the community when Hubpages is used as nothing but free advertising. Youtube can be used that way, but Hubpages isn't meant to be that kind of venue.

    I have seen several like this as I Hop through Hubs. I have also seen Hubs which are offensive because they are only thinly disguised porn. I have also see Hubs that contain nothing but stolen pictures from the Internet--no text, no content.

    These are all types of Hubs which need to be reported for review by the moderators. If we take this proactive stance, we can keep Hubpages for the real Hubbers.

    You can promote with Hubpages, but you may not simply Advertise.
