Do you have any blind date nightmares?

How would you ditch a blind date?

I've only had one blind date nearly 30 years ago and it was horrible which is probably why I never went on one again.   I really wish I had had the nerve to ask him to take me back home within the first 10 minutes. I was in high school and it was a set up with a kid from another school.  I think I knew within 5 minutes that it was going to be a dud.

Thankfully it was just to movie (with a stop to meet his mother on the way).  Because it was a movie, I didn't have to speak too much to the guy.     As he dropped me off at home, it asked for a good night kiss and I said "sorry, no" and couldn't get into the house fast enough!  smile

Oh boy..dating..that brings back some memories (been in a steady relationship for 6 years and counting!).

As cliche as it sounds, I met a girl once online and according to her pictures, she was supermodel gorgeous. So when we finally met, I had a pounding heart, and a bouquet of flowers, and very high expectations. Turns out that this gorgeous girl is actually obese (morbidly) with poor hygiene. But I'm a gentleman, so I had coffee with her, hung out for an hour or so. We never met again, but I still talk to her sometimes.

Yup. Internet dating is a series of first/blind dates over and over and over again. So you never know what you're going to get. I had an older gentleman remain seated the entire date- including introductions, one who insulted the waiter and one who took one look at me and didn't even wait for coffee before escaping! Of course there are been some decent ones here and there, too, but unfortunately it's usually outweighed by bad. Something you have to go through I guess, to meet in the modern way.

Blind night nightmares? I could write a book about those ones! I never ditched blind dates though. I remember they ditched me but I assumed they were just scared to be discovered as someone totally different than the picture.

The best one though was with a guy who drove all the way from Belgium to Holland. After some interesting emails we decided to meet and go to the sauna. Yup! Naked on your first date. I liked to spice up my blind dates once in a while.

    - When we met I noticed he limped, we did go the sauna, he told me about his car accident, how he ended up in a wheelchair and how he didn't have any friends. We enjoyed the day at the sauna though. Very relaxing.

Later he drove me home, hoped for a kiss, didn't get it and he paid for the whole day. I wasn't attracted to him but I felt we had shared a nice day together. He left to Belgium a little disappointed though.

Several and they were truly nightmares, but for me dating was like one never-ending nightmare.  I was never comfortable dating; I was basically a shy introvert who broke out in a rash if a woman talked to me, let alone showed any interest in me.  If I could find a date I would be tongue-tied the entire date.  The dating game was horrible for me and if a friend really wanted me to be miserable then fixing me up with a blind date would be the perfect way to accomplish that.

no, but this remind me of a funny story.  This guy, who don't want to settle down, but his mom is nagging for him to settle down and set him up on a blind date.  SO, on the date he made up stories saying "and said, I know people are really far too immoral these days, like me, I at most sleep with a prostitute once a month only, at most twice  a month, never take weed for more then three times a day." ha ha ha, funny ha?

Not show up, I guess. I have never had one though.
