Yes I do. We are Spirit, we were made from a drop of Gods Spirit. God showed me that in a vision. When we leave this life we automatically go into a spiritual body as we leave the rotting flesh behind to go back to dust. The ones who are not going to be with God go somewhere else. The ones who are going to be with God wait till the rest of their group arrives in heaven, and will be with them. Energy never dies!! We are all energy. God does not die ever. He is the Supreme energy. Everything living is energy and vibrates at a frequency of its own. You know the saying what you say is what you get! Well your thoughts can create what you get! Or what comes around goes around. Well it does! Trees grow tall the seeds fall to the ground and a new tree grows from it. The planets rotate around the sun, every 12 months, then the months start all over again. Every 7 days the days of the weeks start over again. Every 24 hours then the next 24 hours starts over again. Life starts all over again from generation to generation. God is a God of Love first, then organization. Everything and everybody has a reason for being here, we are all being tested. Earth is our testing ground for the future and where we are all going. People better wake up, we all have to be ready or we will not be a part of it!
There are those who believe that what has been made cannot be unmade.
You can see this philosophy in songs like Talk Talk's 1984 classic "It's My Life". The chorus line to this song is "It's my life, don't you forget, it's my life, it never ends."
I, however, am not really sure where I fall on this topic. Yes, I do believe that for those who love Christ Jesus and follow Him, they will live forever in Heaven, but I am not sure if those who hate Christ, reject Him, or follow pagan gods will burn in Hell forever or just be consumed by fire until they exist no more. It's a very good question and well worth looking into.
I believe like we grew up we need to go on the way happy and content to see a few steps ahead, when the time comes we will know, when and if we keep on going. I am at peace with that and am not going to push anything on others about the afterlife.
Funnily enough, the answer to this question is preoccupying scientists as I write.
Particle theory and quantum theory seem to point out that everything is made from the same particles/energy. And it has been an axiom for generations that matter cannot be destroyed, merely changed.
So this would suggest that "we" are around for ever, in one form or another and ultimately in everything.
Also, perhaps more interestingly, if we accept that time has no limits and this mass of energy/mass is indeed around infinitely, then what you and I are today will be endlessly repeated..and also means copies without limit of "us" - and every other life-form and object ever evolved in the universe - exist simillarly in other time dimensions and perhaps other planets and stars.
This would mean we are, indeed, everything, and everything is, indeed, us.
It's a hard concept to grasp and what it means also, in effect, is that reincarnation is a fact.
Great question keithJK. I found that answer to that question quite a long time ago, and it told me do not live to understand what it's so but I must believe. I found my comfort zone and stayed there because I believe it's the only way life was meant to be and the only way it should be.
Recently I read a hub from this fellow Hubber she made a realistic effort to answer this question. Her name is "KatrineDalMonte" You may find it helpful : Life is forever.
It has to to everything else in existence , apart from the ones we are creating synthetics . But we are quickli learning it's no theway to go.
Bless.
I'm not sure if I would want to. An eternal life, after all, may be more enjoyable or meaningful than a short one. It might be nice, however, to live beyond the 100-year maximum that is currently our fate.
Yes, I think there is a judgment after death that results in eternal heaven or hell.
