How do you feel about forced sterilization of criminals?

specifically, I am thinking about the rash of mothers killing children, but as I write this I am now considering fathers who do not pay child support?  I am curious to see the reaction (good, bad or indifferent) that people have over the topic of forced sterilization.  Please give reasons why you feel the way you feel...

Morals can not be legislated: Hitler tried.

Taking away a basic human right because somebody won't pay child support?
Notice you specifically said "fathers." Is it not clear that there are plenty of father's out there that are victimized?  I've personally seen several cases where the father is by and far the better parent, yet the mother wins because that's how our system is biased.  I've also seen women spend gobs of child support on themselves while their children just get neglected.
    Who determines this?
I wouldn't even support this for rapists. It's fact that many women falsify rape claims. It's also fact that there are a lot of innocent men in jail, convicted of sex crimes. If I can't support sterilization on rapists, then I can't support it on anybody, *especially* for such petty things as not paying child support.

The government, has NO right, to tell us of the children that we might bear or  rear.

If, you somehow, DARE , to support " sterilization of criminals".............ALL of your, "pro-choice" or " right to abortion" or " a woman's rights to her body"...........well they, quite simply, are flushed down the stinking toilet.

The "government"...........has a limited access to ME.

When the 'gov' can't tell you that you don't "have" to birth babes,
then, by georgie boy, they simply can not restrict me from having them!

In my mind, it is  just this simple...........

have all that you can feed, and then, feed your own.

" the reason"  ?..............the women that my little baby girls have become.......

Watch the film 'Hard Candy' largely deals with this very issue.

There are mom's that kill or hurt their kids, and as a past foster parent and one who has taken psych classes to know signs, I know that there are for the most part signs someone gives at sometime that will let you know one is going to hurt their children. I think this is when the court needs to step in and have the parental rights ripped from the mom and dad, placing them up for adoption, not letting have the bio family have them as in most cases, they will end up with the bio parents again.  Sterilization is not always the answer, for more than likely, the tax  payers will pay for it as my x sister in law is proof, just so she could get child support for the one child who she did not lose custody of, but did 2 years later,  Most men, will be men, and should learn to use protection all times.  If they have numerous kids, they will be broke.  But just because one pays child support does not make him a dad or a father, just a donor.  In all cases where a child will be the outcome, both men and women need to take responsibility and use protection or take it upon themselves to get "fixed".   I do think that those who have been convicted of rape, men should be castrated /sterilized and women need to have something done to them to them also.  But before this is done, they need to be more than a first offender and proven that they can't be rehabilitated.  I know that most can't.
I could go on, as this question leads to a lot of different questions and answers.

In the case of rape I am in favor of it.  A man should lose his reproductive rights for this type of violent crime.

If the justice system did their job on the ones I would be worried about (child abusers, rapist, murderers, serial killers, etc,) we wouldn't have to worry about it because they would all be in jail.

Sorry but when you start talking about sterilizing a father because he might have lost his job in a recession or someone for a petty theft I think it's time to just reevaluate the entire system or throw it out the window along with our so called democracy.
