PORN?

    Firstly let me make it clear that I'm not complaining about this hub, personally I quite like it. wink

    <no links please>

    But I know that both HubPages and Google have rules against porn, and this is nothing you couldn't see inside many English papers and magazines but I was just curious as to whether other hubbers considered this to be porn or arty pictures?

    So the question is, 'porn' or 'not porn'? (you decide) big_smile

    * and yes I know the issue of these gallery's comes up often, and if you don't like it you can ignore it or flag them (I have done neither) this hub shows no nipples or ladies bits, but does that mean it isn't porn?

      Definitely a little glimpse of, lol, and blatant ass cheeks (I've bookmarked it) haha big_smile

      But is it porn?

        No, I've seen porn, and that's not porn.

    I think with the way society has evolved today , this would not really be considered porn. Flip to A&E on a friday night and you will see more.

    I don't think so...I have seen much worse on here...

    So what would make it porn?

    Nipples?

    Lady bits?

    Spit-roast?

    Donkey?

    Just curious as to where the invisible line lies.

    big_smile

      That was pretty much my point, I'm no anti-porn crusader, hell my drawers won't close for porn, my palms are too hairy to hide and I'm seriously worried about going blind, lol wink

      I'm thinking that maybe 20-30 years ago this might have been considered porn? These days it ain't porn unless it's 20 guys, one woman, and a power-drill with a dildo stuck on the end. big_smile

      Guess I was just feeling silly and curious as to how others felt, lol.

    Dude, there must be like a million hubs of the nature in here! Just check the Bollywood 'AUNTIE' hubs! What's new!

    1. Mrvoodoo profile image58
      Mrvoodooposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      Nothing new dude, although most of those 'auntie' hubs tend to be bikini based (and pretty grim), like I said I'm not complaining, just wondered where the line was (for Google mainly).

      I'm thinking of making some myself (joke) big_smile

  11. Colebabie profile image60
    Colebabieposted 14 years ago

    Well 20-30 years ago there was porn. Bushes bushes everywhere! But porn. Like I said, this (to me anyway) isn't porn. Porn is sexually explicit, like simulating (or doing) a sex act.

    http://patioculture.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/bettiepage.jpg

    Bikini, even nude pictures of women isn't porn to me. But I understand HP/Google has to draw the line somewhere, so often that includes nudity.

      'It's a jungle in there' wink

      Cool pic, I probably should have said further back than 20-30 years, is a woman down on her hands and knees sticking her ass up in the air simulating a sexual act?  not really a natural position for much else, lol

      Think I'll go do a little research to see if Google themselves state where the invisible line lies. smile

    Wow...lots of porn postings lately.  Hey, cool.  It's better than some of the stuff in the Glen Beck threads about rifle killing and such.

    wink

    Carry on.

    Just in case anybody else was curious:

    Adult content

    The AdSense network is considered family-safe, which means that publishers aren't permitted to place Google ads on sites which contain adult content. In addition to photos and videos which contain nudity or sexual activities, here are some other examples of unacceptable content:

        * Lewd or provocative images
        * Crude or indecent language, including adult stories
        * Sexual tips or advice
        * Sexual fetish sites (e.g. foot fetish content)
        * Adult toys or products
        * Ads or links to external sites containing adult content

    not porn, but it is an example of someone stealing someone else art for their commercial gain

    no image credits, links etc.

      Mrvoodooposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      OK I agree it's not porn, but is it 'Lewd or provocative images'?

      1. Colebabie profile image60
        Colebabieposted 14 years agoin reply to this

        Lewd can mean "lustful" so in most cases, yes
        and provocative, yes smile
        But it depends on what floats your boat

        1. Mrvoodoo profile image58
          Mrvoodooposted 14 years agoin reply to this

          lol, I'm desensitized these days, just wondered where the boundries were with Google, because the TOS does state that it's a violation to put your adsense on 'sites' with this content, not 'hubs', so technically am I breaking the Google TOS by being associated with Hubpages.

          I know that's kind of far-fetched and stretching it a bit (I hope), but at the same time technically true perhaps?

      Definately adult content but not porn and definately duplicate content...lol I was distracted but I think I seen other websites marked on the pics.

    I hate to admit this, but its porn to me! A little too naughty there! Crap! The 7 year old almost caught me looking at it? LOL

    1. Mrvoodoo profile image58
      Mrvoodooposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      From Google:

      'If your site has content which you wouldn't be comfortable viewing at work or with family members around, then it probably isn't an appropriate site to place Google ads upon.'

      Pretty much what you just said May. smile

      1. Colebabie profile image60
        Colebabieposted 14 years agoin reply to this

        Yup, makes sense.
        Except I teach sexual health to college freshman and we talk about sex all the time at work.

        And my family is very open and open-minded. So that doesn't apply to me, unless its actual porn (what I think porn is) smile Even then, they would walk by and say "i gotta try that tonight"

    I wouldn't call it porn, mrvoodoo...Yet, I wouldn't want the kiddies looking at it, and I wouldn't want the kiddies (if I had any) watching me scoping it, just like May over here...It's neither this nor that...It's a grey, DARK grey area big_smile

      Mrvoodooposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      Same here dohn (looking good fella), I loves me some porn, this isn't a moral protest I'm all for variety at HP and I've got a few hubs that come close to the bone myself (in terms of sexual advice/fetish etc.).

      Just wondered where the Google stance lay, and now I know, guess I should have just gone and Googled it first before starting this, lol smile

    It is an Art form it is certainly not distasteful I have pics like that of myself well my husband has them it is elegant and sexy just art, I have seen far more provocative hubs on HP. Would I allow my son to see them not at his age but there is nothing wrong with tasteful pics when they get older and a body certainly is not shameful she certainly is not butt naked, she has left some to the person's imagination. You (guys) know you are enjoying it or you wouldn't point it out. lolololo big_smile

    Even I wouldn't call that "porn" (and I have, I think, a fairly low bar when it comes to "decency").  A couple (more than the others) are pretty provocative (so I suppose I can see why someone may call them, "adult content").  Still, not all "adult content" is porn.  The pictures aren't crude.  There's no sex going on.  To me, even if they're considered, "adult", I'd rank those pictures among the "milder" of adult photos.
