What would you do if your church won't baptize you just because you missed 1 day of Bible study?

    Here's the story to that:
My family was a loyal church goers since my grandparent's time. We are baptized on this church. My sister, however, sometimes skip Sabbath because of school. When we asked the church what was the things needed to do to get her baptized, they told us to that my sister needs to attend a Bible study for a month every SAturday at church. So we find time to take her to the Bible study group. But the last day of the session, she skip, because she was going to take a final exam at school. after that, we requested to make-up for the lost day but they refused and said she would take another session for a whole month! When we argue, they also said that they couldn't baptized her since she is not a loyal church-goer and needs to attend every SAturday for a whole year. I felt so sad because until now, they wouldnt baptized her. She's already 19.

Leave the Church. Attending school and taking exams is far far more important than being baptised. Shcool and exams will enhance her life chances, being Bapised is just symbolic. Is it right for the Church to be  legalistic where people are not free to come and go on their terms anyway?

I would find another church. Too often people like to be gatekeepers. Someone who is going to use power poorly. The reason we are baptized is to show others the grace we already feel inside. It is pathetic to put up hoops to jump through or requirements that have to be met exactly for every person. Legalistic denominations enjoy this kind of game, and it forces you to either play the game by their rules or find another game to play (another church).
I would start looking at the different churches, spend a couple of weeks in one and then try another until you find the church that feels the most like home. More often than not, a church will baptize you (at no cost to clarify a wrong answer) after talking about the importance of living a Christian life. Baptism should not be some carrot held out to make you go through different steps, it is meant to be an outward sign of the inward grace the the love of Jesus has for us all.

I'd find a congregation that actually studied the Bible at Bible studies - that's not merely ludicrous, it's an evil misrepresentation of the gospel.
