I think arranged marriage is a dated tradition that was used to make sure that men stayed in control of women.

I have known several couples who had arranged marriages and did really well.  I have known many couples who married for love;some did well and some did not do so well. Marriage is a commitment.

    A Marriage ... is a Marriage ...
whether it be of Love, betwixt the two ...
or one Arranged by the many, Loving, the two ...

Marriages are "made" in Heavens ...
But on Earth ... Humans Make and Break ...
    The Ordained Marriages.

They are both good ways to start a marriage. Most people wish to have a love marriage but mistake lust for love. If you have common interests and a conviction that you will make your marriage work, it will most likely work. If you are marrying for lust, when it fades, you will be left with nothing unless you make sure you also have common interests. The biggest thing to worry about in either case is whether you have common interests and a conviction to make the marriage work. Talking and working on your marriage is not a 50-50 thing either. It takes both sides working at it a whole lot more than that to have a lasting marriage.
Arranged marriages usually work better because the person arranging it is concerned about the two having a good marriage. They will make sure that their are common interests and they will also ensure that both parties want this particular marriage. The working on it is about the same but the arranged marriage does not have to deal with the disappointment of lost love and lust.

I am an Indian, so of course in all probability, arranged marriage is most likely with me! But I love it, actually, only one of my few friends who like it. It's much more thrilling than a love marriage, isn't it? There's more romance in an arranged marriage, in a love marriage, you know what's the deal you're getting, you know the person and the mystery and beauty is gone.... With an arranged marriage, you can have a huge ball, very traditional, and with the blessings of everyone and you simply don't know anything about the person that you are gonna live with the rest of your life... it so dramatic... I love arranged marriage best!

I am an Indian but this doesn't stop me from love .As a teenager I fell in love I will say a very passionate one but i was a failure rejected.Tried my luck many times but of no use. Finally had a arrange marriage. We are a happily married couple but it will be a lie if I say it is better than a love marriage. There is a lot of passion and madness in love .Arrange marriage is like a relation of need yes it develops into love. But we choose parners with mind first followed by love later...
