Why is it that some people only go the church on Easter, Mother's Day and Christmas?
My church was PACKED on Easter Sunday. With today, April 15, 2012, being the first Sunday after Easter, I couldn't help but notice that there were fewer cars in the parking lot. A couple of other people I started talking and wondering why certain Sundays - Easter, Mother's Day, the Sunday directly before or after Christmas - are heavily populated but other Sundays aren't. Where do people go? Why do they only go to church on those days?
These have become holidays as well as holy days.If one is not real religious these days would seem more important.
I'm not one of them, but I imagine that they feel really spiritual, or feel the need to celebrate God on these days. The advertisements also bring these days to our attention; and the media controls the behavior of most.
Good question. I think it is just tradition. People see church-going, just as they see their faith or religion, in different ways. Perhaps some people feel an obligation to attend church on what they perceive to be Christian holidays.
It is God or their soul's or conscience that eventually brings them. They know intuitively what they are meant to do, but like so many of us, get caught up with 'fillers' in their lives. I feel that it is good that they finally make the effort, even if for the big occasions. Nothing is ever wasted. So a small effort is better than none at all.

Why do non-Christians celebrate Christmas?Christmas is a celebration of the birthday of Christ. Why do non-Christians celebrate Christmas? Is this the reason people say the US government was founded based on Christian principles?

Why do so many people choose to lie to their children about Santa? This is where "Christians" and the rest of the population are similar, they all lie to their children about Santa and that seems dangerous! Jesus Christ hates lies, so why do people do it on His so-called birthday?

Do you think husbands should give their wives Mother's Day presents? Why or why not? After they become parents, obviously. And just as obviously, I am biased about this topic. But I want to know your opinion.
