Does your pet ride well in the car or truck and do they get excited when they get to go for a ride?
This is T-Bo going to work with his daddy in the big truck.
MyDog loves to go for a ride. As soon as he hears the car keys he trots to the door.
Marsha, our Shih Tzu/Terrier, was adopted at Christmas 2011 from the Humane Society. She loves to go for car rides and travels well, yesterday she had a five hour car ride - she was happy. We call out car ride and she is at the door. Angie and Marsha
My dog loves to go for rides. He thinks he should sit in the front passenger seat so he can hang out the window. Unfortunately, that seat usually has my disabled husband in it and this is not a lap sized dog. My husband disappears under him. I am the only one who can control him in the car and I am busy driving so I don't have time. That means my husband gets to be his seat.
Our Leonberger loves to go in the car with his dad. When they go to the feed store to buy dog food, he marches in and goes right behind the counter to visit all the ladies and get dog cookies!
Sometimes my husband will load them all up in the car for a ride around the block. They all love it and get so excited!
Looks like so far all the dogs love to ride. Mine are the same way and will literally jump over backwards for a chance to ride. Shoot if they could get up in the tractor I think they would do that.
Great answers so far I just wonder if almost all dogs love to ride so keep them coming.
My pup is a rescue dog, so it has been a slow process, at first he would pant and cry but we take him to the dog park to run and he is starting to enjoy riding because he knows he is going someplace fun!
Yeah, I've seen many dogs that enjoy riding in vehicles, but I've never had a cat feel the same way. If ya have ever had a crazy cat clawing, jumping, hissing and making weird, angry mouth noises in your car while going to the Vet, you'll never transport them again without a pet carrier, just saying... Uh, yeah, dogs are typically totally content with vehicular action, but many other pets ain't down with it...
I didn't know there was word limit on these comments, so please excuse the comment I made to "moonfairy," as it cut me off in mid-comment...
Your so right about other pets especially cats. I don't think I've ever seen a cat that road well )
No, our golden retriever doesn't ride well at all. He pants constantly and walks back and forth from window to window. By the time we get to our destination I usually have a headache!
It sounds like you need to order the "Auto Dog Barrier With Door" product, as the advert follows with: "Drive free of distractions and know that your pet is safe in the cargo area.
Travel safely with your pet when you install the Auto Pet Barrier wit
Wow that's probably one of the first dogs I've heard of that doesn't like to ride other than because they get sick. Good Luck and I wish I knew of something that would help. Maybe Insane Mundanes idea would work Take Care
My lab mix loves going on car rides, and gets excited just when she hears the word 'car'. I think it's because she associates the car with going to the park, which is her absolute favourite thing in the world. I also have a little shih tzu mix and she also loves the car, but is a bit more difficult to handle when she's in one since she's constantly climbing all over the place and wants to sit on the driver's lap...My lab is a lot better about staying in the back seat.
My two dogs don't do well at all riding in the car. They both have a lot of anxiety. They cry, vomit, sometimes my male dog will urinate in the travel crate. Mostly, he pants and drools. They both just hate it. I've tried covering the crate, singing to them, cracking the window open, among other things. I feel so bad for them when I have to take them somewhere so I try to avoid it as much as possible.
Awwhh I feel bad for them and you too. It's bad enough if they don't like to ride but all that anxiety with it probably doesn't help. Wish you the best and maybe you could ask one of the dog trainers on HP if they had any ideas. Take care and I h

What to do when you dislike a pet?I know it makes me sound horrible, but I very much dislike a dog my husband got a few months ago. I was okay with the idea of adding to our family. However after a couple months of training she has not improved at all (she's almost 3yrs). She chews up stuff, goes...

What do you think is the one thing you do the most of to spoil your pet?Is it the food and care you give, that special play time, the homemade treats, or something totally different?

I have often wondered, how you can tell if your pet loves you? or is it simply a matter of a strager feeding them well and the pet changingig alliance to the the new master.

Well, I'm taking the plunge. I'm adopting a red and white husky this week, and I'm totally stoked. My dad has this story he likes to tell about my love for huskies. When I was two years old I pulled a husky puppy into my stroller with me and offered it some of my juice from my...
