   Whats the best way to get rid of the smell of paint?
   
   I have been decorating, and me being me, I hate the smell of paint, it always gives me a headache and queesy stomach. I have opened the windows, sprayed perfume, furniture polish and just about everything else in there, but it just won't go away, any ideas? Thanks!

   You definitely do not want to try covering it up with another scent. That is only going to make it worse. Get an "Odor Eliminator". There are machines, sprays, etc that will take away the odor by various methods. Just be sure to get one that works on chemical odors... I used one for pet odor a while back and it worked pretty well. It was a liquid that you put in a dish or on a cottonball. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called! Hope this helps.

   I have an Ionic Breeze, from Sharper Image. It takes most kinds of odors out of the air. However it does generate a small amount of ozone odor. Unlike HEPA units, the IB is completely silent.

   Nell Rose....Has no one told you about the paints on the market that are nearly odor-less?   How could you tolerate this while doing the painting?   
   Are you expecting the smell to dissipate too soon?  It takes about a week of access to fresh air 24/7 to completely eliminate the odor.  Don't spray anything....that doesn't do a thing, GF, accept give you a different kind of headache!! lol
   If all else fails.....pack your bag and stay with a friend for a few days!   Aren't I the most HELPFUL person in the world????
   BTW....did you use SPRAY paint?   If so.....you need to know that the tiny hairs in your nose are coated with paint......GOOD luck flushing out your nose!!  LMAO!

      Lol! no it was just normal water based paint, but I just got fed up with the smell hanging around. I don't think anyone will let me loose with a spray paint!

   Before the onset of low order paints, I used to place a couple of buckets full of water in the room I was painting. It's a tip I picked up from watching countless hours of This Old House. It may sound odd, but it works.

   I've been told cat litter and baking soda can sometimes absorb the smell. My brother paints for a living, he said there isn't too too much you can do, but that may help a little bit.
