Yes, I do believe laughing can be contagious.

As for healing, it has the effect of making a person healthier as being happier. My body tends to react according to our emotions in a way. So, be happy and live a happier life.

It is instinctual that you laugh if you saw a person laughing, unless if you can control yourself. Laughing can heal melancholy and boredom, but never permanently. Laughing can never also heal physical illness, but in the mental domain, it can.

Yes and yes! You can even feel how good it is for you after a good belly laugh.

Yes, if someone is laughing more than just a few seconds, it will spread all over the area where it started like wildfire! it is healing too.

Genuine laughter is the best medicine.  Sometimes, in a conversation with my BFF, regaling life's difficulties, she or I will make an "off the cuff" comment that leaves us both in uncontrollable laughter.  All the angst dissolves.  Laughter is cathartic, leaving stress in the dust.

I have an autoimmune disease that has a negative effect on my white blood cell count, making me susceptible to illness.  I have noticed a correlation with heightened periods of stress and flares in my disease.  I live alone (with my furry, Scottish Terrier canine companion) and I watch TV for relaxation in the evening.  Whether I shed tears over Grey's Anatomy or laughter watching Seinfeld reruns, I feel palpable stress relief and am then ready for the respite healing power of sleep.

With our first smile, that changes to laughter, we make our first connection with the people we love, with the world around us...that welcome us. With our last laugh, that changes to our last smile, we are leaving the loved ones behind and the world as well...Laughing is not only healing, laughing is part of living...

Yes!!! I have healed from many things from being able to open up and laugh. Not a forced laugh but a genuine laugh you can feel through your whole body -- most wonderful thing in the world!

I wasn't able to fully open up though until I was able to be at peace with my past and not fearful of my future and just be in the moment -- like a child. Such freedom! Such joy in this!

I really owe it all to practicing these very simple and powerful techniques: http://www.merkaba.org I used to get sick regularly until I started doing this techniques.

I also believe that as long as it's not at the expense of another then laughing is good. Thanks for the link, I also suffer from an illness and while laughing is good it's not enough to heal what I have.
