What lyrics of a song and artist have inspired you most and why?

The lyrics of Labi Saffri 's song 'Something inside so strong' have always been inspirational and meant something special to me on different levels. What lyrics of a song have inspired you and why?

If I had to choose, I would think that "Bridge over troubled waters" means more to me than almost any other song I've ever heard. The sense of love and self-sacrifice that is conveyed by the moving lyrics has always affected me deeply. This is one song, I believe, will live forever.

Australian song-writer and singer Paul Kelly and his songs: 'Feeling of grief'
'Stolen apples taste the sweetest'  'Please leave your ligth on' touch something deep inside me. When I drive home after work listening to these ballads, I feel just right, knowing that I am in the right place, in the right time and if there are some troubles in my life today...tomorrow everything will allright again:)

Rod Stewart's "You're in my heart" has helped me maintain my sanity during my current relationship with my wife.

I don't have just one..there are many songs that have a profound affect on me in one way or another a few of them are Blake Shelton's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZjosn2u1gA - After experiencing love lost, this songs inspires what I hope for.  Michael Jackson's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PivWY9wn5ps&ob=av2n - because I know on so many levels that the start of the change has to be in me.  Kings of Leon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnhXHvRoUd0 - for some reason this song made me realize just how alone I had been feeling. Brandon Heath http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5AkNqLuVgY&ob=av2e - because I keep feeling like I keep missing something and I realize I have to see with new eyes and beyond myself in order to make any good change and advancement possible. So after all of these intense emotions, when I just want to have some fun I go here:

John Newton's hymn, "Amazing Grace," would be my choice.  It flat out details my past, present, and future both objectively and emotionally.  Good question, Cherri!

For me, the lyrics of John Lennon's "Imagine" are the most inspiring.
