Anyone experiencing a sudden unusual upswing in traffic?

Ummm... has anyone else experienced a very sudden and unexpected, extraordinary, overall jump in traffic? I am not following what changes traffic rise and drop, was there recently another google update? Anyone?
Holy rollercoaster! It was dead in the water for over 2 months and now someone opened the floodgates.

No not here. I have had a sprinkle of google views which is nice given I went to zero recently but definitely no surge in traffic. Great news for you though. Let's hope it continues!!

My upswing is huge, and it is across the board, all hubs, all of the sudden. Unfortunately I do not yet have visibility of the cause of the sudden windfall. My traffic sources are not reflecting what the statistics are showing yet. Carry on traffic!

Slight up-tick here, but I assumed it was because I was tinkering with titles and keywords. Google updates from what I can tell never have much effect at my level. I write the same way regardless of Google's updates. Some clients I write for have experienced an increase however. I had not changed any thing as far as my writing goes to account for the increase in traffic

I did experience a slight uptick too, not just on one site but on several. I too have been making more efforts which I believed would have more impact on business. I'm not certain if Google did have another update, but I am thankful for the improvement.

Mine is up, for the most part, by about 60%. I'm seeing my numbers staying high even if I don't publish a new Hub, which is unusual for me since I'm relatively new.

Yesterday i had a sudden surge.  It was the highest one day count I've ever had and it was across the board.  Almost every hub was viewed, which is highly unusual.  I hope it continues LOL!!  It felt great!

That was what I experienced. It appears that there has now been a significant drop back, I still have no idea the source of the traffic.

Today it seems to have dropped some, but it's not a huge drop as far as I can see.

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago.  All of a sudden my page views went up by 250 views a day.  It lasted for about 5 days.  They have since sunk back down to almost what they were before it happened.

Like Timetraveler2, nearly all my hubs were viewed.  I was shocked when I saw the number of views per hour because I had done nothing different.  I thought maybe someone had hacked in or something.  A lot of strange things keep happening on this site for the last month or so.

Au fait, this sounds like a similar experience, save for mine only lasted 24hrs. I have not been editing lately at all. I also still have no visibility of the source of the traffic. Weird!

Same here.... all my hubs were viewed in one day and it was reflected in my earnings.  Just the one day though and then back to normal traffic.  Kinda weird me thinks...

Did your traffic sources show the source of the views? Mine have been invisible.

If 0 page views is considered an upswing, then I'd have to say yes.  =-P

    I am and it's unreal,

beyond my wildest dreams. It's like an epidemic, first one, then another and another and another. It's like a migration of ants, a swarm of bees, consistent, relentless, driving on, all with one landing site in mind.

All this traffic and all at one time, hoarding towards the goal, the holy grail, the destination, the point of ultimate enjoyment.

This happens every year when the festival is on at the end of my lane. I suppose I should hand out Hubpages flyers,

    MJ.

Mj, are you saying that your traffic fluctuates according to a local event? Do you have hubs about the event?

I apologise thoughthole, that's my warped sense of humour. I live in the country and the lane's just wide enough for one car, so when there's an event I can be trapped at home. Although I never thought of doing a hub, thx, thoughthole, MJ.

No, nothing much is happening here. Just hoping and waiting.
