   Should I ask before giving someone's hub a  blog link?
   
   I would like to post hubs/hubbers I think are good on my blog outside of HubPages, is this something that would universally be appreciated, or should I ask first before posting a link to their hub?

   Personally, I would love it if someone posted links to my pages even without my knowledge. It means people enjoy your work. But, I think it would be nice if you informed the author. This is because they will see how their writing is affecting others (Unless of course you are making derogatory remarks against the individual). You might want to consider posting RSS feeds or Widgets too if you like their work and think your readers would enjoy it too.

   It can only benefit them to have more links to their work. If they are writing on Hubpages then they want to get their writing out there. For these reasons I see no problem linking other peoples work as long as you give them proper credit.
   I agree with NC4Life078 about writers feeling honored to have their work recognized.

   Anything that brings in more readers will always be welcome to me. It's no different from posting recommendations on Facebook really. A link is a link and I'm sure your blog is very good quality. ("Flatter Flatter"). Link on my friend.

   Seriously though, you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who would NOT want you to give them free page views.

   This is really fine. Actually, you're also doing a favor to the hubber.
   
   And acknowledgement will be of course really appreciated. Letting them know is like saying, "Your article/hub is really great, so I'm referring them to others."
   
   And I guess, everyone wants to be told of something like that.

   I personally think that you should ask. In all honesty they should have the right to choose who they are associated with. I not saying you blog is bad or anything I am just saying your traffic may not perform well for them. So yes, always ask.

    I think that so far I like the 'do it but inform them' option best, as then they can simply tell me if they wish me to remove the link.
    To test it out, and because he answered so eloquently I have posted NC4life's widget on my blog www.tblacblog.com. (link in my profile as well)
    It's still too new for any serious traffic (plus I'm not SEO guru) but well at least it's a back link right?
    
    Ok and think I'll randomly pick a second (go online random number generator!)
