Do you have business cards made up for your HubPages profile with your website address on them?
Inspired by RealHousewife and her awesome t-shirts, I was considering getting business cards made that list my HubPages profile address on them to hand out to potential, local clients. Have you have much success using business cards to find freelance work?
I wouldn't put my Hubpages address on a business card - it is not my website and it's well known as a content farm (just like Squidoo, Wizzley, Bukisa, Zujava and so on). I put a link to my personal website on my business cards. On my personal site I have some links to hubs of interest though.
WryLilt, do you promote your writings on HubPages on social media outlets or do you just write and let readers find it?
I get about 160,000 views a month on this account. I don't promote, that's nearly all from Google, or from people pinning or liking my content after visiting from Google.
I'm not sure I agree that our individual sites at HP "are not ours." Content farm or not....we hubbers have our own personal acre. On the other hand, we don't all have our own website in addition to HP.
Business cards seems to me to be a wonderful concept, if only to share our hubs and introduce people to HubPages in general. This is a great idea for several reasons and I may seriously consider it. Thanks, TT!
No, but that is a very interesting idea. I've used business cards for my work and it seems to have helped. However, nothing is better than word of mouth.
I never really thought about it..I assumed everyone did...when I first started writting books and publishing, this was a way for me to promote and market...
I found a very affordable print site ..they also offer a free shirt that I designed for FREE...so I ordered more @ low $...When we travel whether it be in our own state..OR..out of country..I take extra books/shirts and hand them out, restaurant, motel, independent owners. They wear the shirts advertising my book/website ( NOT HP) etc .They will sometimes display my business cards in their establishment...in exchange I do " Trip Advisor " and review their business. Now I do shirts/caps/magnetic cards( for fridge memos)and plastic drink water bottles...It has raised the sales of my books..and it's a win/win for everyone...my recent book is available @ Amazon/Barnes-Noble, and Internationally...great question..hope my ideas helped...
Yes I do have business cards to solicit Sunshine and her many businesses! It's difficult to pass up FREE offers for business cards and quality t-shirts at bargain prices at VistaPrint.com. I am a Vista addict. I use the cards for Avon, Ebay and HP. I have no shame
hub (((TToombs08))) does that help to meet your need? As far as the question goes I use to use my eBay addy & Logo on a business card. I used it not for business, but to pick up gals, ha, ha. . . That was after my decision to date again back in '07 . . . It works. I learned that it was not the business stuff that worked, it was the 'Logo' that drew their attention and the note on the back of the card, always hand written, the human touch, no robot stuff.
I wrote a paper for a friend when she opened her Chiropractic business. It is titled the 'Watershed Principal of Business Cards.' I will look through my 'bag of tricks' and see if I can find it and publish maybe on Thursday (08/23/12). It seemed to have worked. The ones she shared that paper with said it worked too. So, I am left with simply 'I dun'no.' yet I will share and ya'll can share with me and we both can learn
It is based on twenty five years experience selling of all things tires, really a disguise, since it is a service, really that is what it is. The card is a lure sort to speak, yet not of ill repute or selfishness. Only a subtle gesture of answering a heard need with an offering of a path to a solution.
The rest could be business or it may be something different. Only kismet, fate, karma, or as the infamous football coach 'Paul "Bear" Bryant' said, "Luck is 'Preparation' meeting opportunity." So, when you do hand that card, and a bite is felt, be sure when you reel it in your prize catch, well the scouting program - both girl and boy, have a motto, "Be Prepared." (Note: It is usually shortened to BP, odd, some may say?)

Not at this time. Going to take many more quality hubs (if I ever start writing quality, that is) before I begin to market myself. "Startin' ta sound like one ov Missy Clara's gerls." Timing just not right at this point.

Okay, this is why I dreaded the coming changeover -- Google authorship was working just fine under the old format, but the new profile page won't recognize my Google profile URL because I have an old Google member profile.Which works just fine with Google authorship, but Hubpages' new profile...

Is there anything you don't you like about the new hubpages profile pages?I believe changing over is irreversible and ultimately inevitable for all hubbers but for all those who find change difficult :-) it would be good to hear of any negative observations regarding the new profile pages that you...
