Was President Obama's Convention Speech Strong Enough to Distance Him From Romney?

President Obama has been criticized for being too passive in past years. Was the speech aggressive enough? Did he throw enough punches to put Romney on the ropes?

What does rhetoric matter if it's lies and half truths?

What does it matter to say that you will remove combat troops from Iraq if you merely change their name from "combat" troops to "trainers?"

What does it matter if you say that you will restore habeas corpus, but you fail on your promise?

What does it matter if you give an Oath of Office to defend the Constitution, but you repeatedly shred that precious document with NDAA and its indefinite detention clauses, create an Obama "Kill List" with Americans on it, bypass Congress on matters of going to war (Libya) and more breaches of that sacred Oath of Office?

What does it matter if Obama = Romney on every issue important to the real power in America -- the Rockefellers, military industrial complex, Wall Street Bankers, and the private Federal Reserve bank?

Don't be fooled like the Germans of 80 years ago. America is being led down the path to the Dark Side.

We have become the Evil Empire. Welcome to Gulag Amerika, Inc.

We've had our Reichstag fire (9/11) and blamed it on someone else. We've had our shredding of the Constitution like the Germans (UnPatriot, NDAA, etc). We've had our Wars of Aggression to "Protect" the Homeland Security (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya,... Syria, Iran, Russia, the World).

Obama = Romney = Bush = Clinton = Bush Sr. = Corporate Party (the only real party with power in America).

Stop drinking the Corporate Party media kool-aid.

Help legalize the Constitution while we still have a chance.... Before the Constitution is gone in every part and the jack boots are heard on your kitchen floor.

It was an empty suit of a speech. Obama is a slick pol, in his thuggish Chicago way, but running a campaign of unalloyed political tactic with no credible content is no way to impress anyone not already desperately seeking fuel for his partisan fire. Obama cannot win on the core Democratic vote alone, and unless he has been able to buy enough rent-seeking minority votes to eke out an overall majority he will have to start packing come November. Combative emotionalism may feed red meat to hungry party dogs, but it sways no one else. That speech did nothing to add substance to a hollow reelection case.

Distance him from Romney?  They couldn't be further apart already.  That's what the election is going to be about.

I meant distance himself percentage wise in the polls. If we are talking ideology, you are correct, they couldn't be further distanced from each other.

The truth is that Obama has destroyed the economy and increased our debt to 33 trillion. We need an economist in the White House which is why Mitt Romney will be the next president. If Obama somehow pulls the upset and wins I except a MAJOR recession next year. This country could be in big trouble.

The debt increases by 50 Billion dollars a day due to interest. How can anyone slow that down. It was astronomical before Obama came into office. No mere mortal could reverse that. Anyways why is the US charged with interest that we can't pay?
