    Are you a jealous person?

If so what's one of the most memorable things you have done because of jealousy? If not, how do you respond in the type of situation  that make people feel jealous?

I think at times I can feel jealous but I never really wanted someone else's life.  I don't respond to people who feel jealous, I feel like that's an emotion they have to sort out for themselves.

To be perfectly honest I wouldn't say I get that jealous. Sure some people really bug me, especially if they get something that I was aiming for but generally I just try harder to do it myself.

I would say that rather than being jealous, any situations that could cause envy just provoke ambitions.

If someone is better than me... I just try harder!

Jealousy is part of human emotion. It cannot be avoided but can be controlled.

I used to be jealous when my girlfriend goes out with other guys. To curb my jealousy, I learn to accept that she has the freedom of making friends to spending her time socializing. So, I am able to control my own jealousy.

It's natural to feel jealous at times but I rarely feel it.  I am however competitive, which answers your other question.  I saw a woman at a wedding once many years ago and she was so pretty and thin.  At the time, I was very heavy.  Maybe that's when I felt a little jealousy towards her and wished I was in that great shape, so the competitive part of me kicked in and I started exercising and lost a ton of weight.  I never saw her again but by that point, I wasn't thinking about her.  All that energy I was feeling was transferred into a positive one for me.

As for relationships, it will take a lot to make me jealous.  I am very confident in who I am and it took me a long time to get here.  I would tell anyone who feels jealous about anything to ask themselves why they are feeling that way.  Do they feel inadequate?  Or is there self esteem suffering?  If so, there is nothing preventing them from feeling better.  Whatever negative feelings they have, can be solved within themselves with work and dedication.

I think you are perfectly right in analyzing the underlying emotion of jealousy. Whenever I feel jealous and I try and dig out the reason, it is mostly that I do not feel confident about THAT particular thing. And just like you it motivates me.
