   Mitt Romney or Obama? Why?
   
   I already know who I'm voting for, but I feel like I haven't heard good arguments for either side as to why either one should win, other than - "lesser than the two evils". I want to hear your thoughts - respectfully. Debates are certainly welcomed as long as they can be respectful to both parties. And....Go!

   With no third party candidate as an option, I have to vote Obama.  Romney is far too inconsistent and in my opinion, doesn't think on his feet well.  Obama is cool headed, bright, and strong-willed, all good characteristics for a leader.  With a little cooperation from Congress, I think we could see the best of Obam with four more years.  Romney might be very good for some aspects of the economy but I do not think he can relate to the disenfranchised.  And, with the international stage in such turmoil, I am afraid Romney could make things really bad because of his poor communication skills.

      Gary Johnson is available in all 50 states on the Libertarian ticket and about as close to Ron Paul as you can get, still in the race. Obama is a real silver-tongued devil. Kill list, trashing Constitution, $16+ Trillion in debt.

      lone77star - I would vote for a Libertarian in a minute if they had enough support to win. But, I've wasted my vote on third party before. It  only it takes votes away from the lesser evil candidate. I wish it wasn't so. Johnson is getting no press.

      Lesser evil? Hitler or Stalin? I'm sorry, I don't see voting for any evil as good. Wasted vote when you don't vote conscience, and vote for ego's sake (I voted for a winner). Please reconsider. Romney = Obama (see my answer).

   Both Obamney and Rombama are evil and not only "not good" for America, they are disastrous to our future. In every respect that remains vital to the future of America, both candidates are practically the same.
   
   * War -- more of it. Building up the military and keeping us in Iraq ("training" instead of "combat" -- Orwellian double-speak), and keeping us in Afghanistan. America is the new Evil Empire. Romney declared he increase the size of military, when we're already larger than that of the next 10 nations combined.
   
   * Economic disaster -- more of it. $16+ Trillion in debt. Both candidates are ripe to increase this.
   
   * Tyranny -- more of it. Obama has trashed the Constitution so many times, he is an enemy of state with multiple acts of treason (kill list with Americans, NDAA, UnPatriot Act, HR 347 making it a felony to protest, and much more). Romney is cut from the same cloth and would've signed NDAA with its indefinite detention clauses for Americans without recourse to attorney or a trial. Welcome to Fascist America.
   
   Both candidates work for the Corporate Party. The Corporate Party media branch has been doing a bang-up job keeping alive the illusion of choice.
   
   But elections are effectively dead in America. Changing votes, ignoring votes, having caucus chairmen arrested to stop their influence ("trespassing"), and both halves of the Corporate Party convention have effectively done away with Roberts Rules of Order.    Vote Gary Johnson, Libertarian. He noted that he would not have run if Ron Paul had been nominated at the RNC. Johnson stands for liberty, restoration of the Constitution, eliminating the greedy corporate wars, bringing our troops home, and slashing government spending while balancing the budget, reducing the national debt, and eliminating personal income tax.
   
   Lesser of two evils? Would you vote for Hitler or Stalin? Case closed! Vote Libertarian or watch America go down the tubes.
   
   When that $16+ Trillion debt bubble pops, only the Bankers and their pals in Washington will be left standing.

   Most people I know are so turned off by the dysfunctional US political system and the abysmal choice with which it has presented us they are avoiding personal involvement in this election. The mainstream media has so shamelessly played its role as the progressives' propaganda ministry they have tuned it out. If you'll notice, political discussions on Hub and elsewhere have taken on a hollow tone, just going through the motions with declining participation. Folks are disgusted with this one.
   
   Obama can't run on his horrible record nor a second time on empty promises, and so he is left with demonizing Romney. Romney, as pols must, responds in kind. What we get is the most negative campaign in our lifetimes. What both sides get in the end is what they have asked for: a mudwrestling contest, the winner of which is as caked in dirt as the loser, the loser being not the one who is the lesser of two evils but merely the one who last slipped and fell in the filth. In fact, both lose no matter which remains standing in the muck on November 7.
   
   This isn't a presidential election. It's a display of how low US politics has fallen. It doesn't really matter for which of these two losers you cast your vote. You may as well flip a coin.

   While I agree the choice we are stuck with comes down to the lesser of two evils, it is the choice we must make none the less.  I will not vote for a third party candidate, nor will most of America for we have seen that historically it only serves to split the vote of one party essentially ensuring the victory of the other.  In this case, a third party vote guarantees Obama is reinstalled to the office.  There is nowhere near enough time to convince enough of America to vote that way before the election.  That is not the biggest problem though.  The Electoral College is.  They will never support a third party candidate and they are the ones who decides who is president.  We just hope they go along with the majority of us.
   I will be voting for Romney.  As mentioned by others, Obama has shredded the Constitution.  He has no respect for America.  He has waged a campaign of division and spend happy assurances of bankruptcy for our future.  I’ll take republican greed over Socialist lust for power any day.  The former will work towards fixing the economy because it is in their own greedy self interest to do so.  The later will continue to drag America down on every scale from production, to credit rating, to education and freedom indexes.  We have fallen in every single one under this man that sits in the office of the Presidency at the moment.  In the end, it doesn’t come down to wanting to help the poor, save the environment or any other truly worthy cause that I too support.  It comes down to America remaining a free nation with a chance of survival.

   Romney - 100% - He is the only reasonable choice in my mind. He wants to keep American Freedom and Pride. He CARES about our country. He is a terrific business man and we need that to get us out of this economical mess we are in. Romney is an honest man and a family man. He has given millions to charity and has worked for no pay - he is good, decent, and humble. I have faith in the Romney Ryan team and I am positive they will win come November.

   Well, Obama has already proven to us all that he can't control the military or the CIA and that he's willing to go to war anywhere and even supress the Bill of Rights as much as Bush did (or more). The Republican Party has gone from right-wing to full-blown fascist, but at least they are honest about it. I'm against voting for the lesser of the two evils. When the nation is already in dire straights, you either abstain from voting or you vote for the WORST of the two evils. Let the ship crash itself so we can start over.
