If you're opened-minded and think that someone else is closed-minded, are you closed-minded?
When you say something you feel is open-minded, and someone contradicts you, and you think they are closed minded, wouldn't that also make you closed minded?
Depends on how you handle the situation. If you think they are closed minded but are open minded enough to know that some are closed then you won't argue your point too strongly because you know they are closed to your openness. However if you are closed to the fact that others are closed and try to pry them open, then you are closed and perhaps need to open up. Of course if they are open to your being open and simply disagree without closing each other out, then you are both open to the fact that people can disagree without closing down.
I myself am open minded to some things more than others and believe we are all doors who open and close.
Not really, the least they can do is ask questions before they make a judgement.
A person who is open-minded will be able to analyze and judge after intense observation before making a conclusion.
When someone is closed-minded that contradicts when you are saying or doing does not necessary makes you closed minded as they do not share your perspective view. You can use certain examples that may help them to realize it so they will be open minded like you.
Absolutely!
Judging the other person as "close-minded" automatically makes you "close-minded."
This is ego in action. This is you pulling the blindfold of ego more tightly over your spiritual eyes forcing you to view the world through the false perception of human eyes, rather than through the true light of spiritual eyes.
When you judge someone else, you are driving a wedge of separateness between you and them. The antidote to this is utter humility, combined with love, responsibility and perfect confidence (faith).
With this antidote, you can hear what the other person says with completely openness. You feel no contradiction or assault when there is no ego to make you into a victim.
This is not to say that whatever the person says should be taken as right or correct. It may not be, but ego is entirely removed from the equation and you have the patience and love of them in order to hear what they have to say.
If you are truly open minded about a particular situation or moment..... I would think that you would be open minded enough to be able to say... we just see things differently. i believe we can be open minded about some things but, not all the time.
Sometimes there are no right or wrong answers. Yet, in my book, sometimes there is a right and a wrong and it will NOT be open for discussion. Example, certain betrayals, I am very closed minded about this and I will never agree that certain betrayals are okay. Now, let's go to the color pink. I love the color pink, I am open to the fact that not everyone loves pink as much as I do. I am willing to be open minded about this. Boundaries at times are needed and can be just as harmful to ourselves and others if we don't have them for certain things.
What I am saying is being closed minded at times is okay with me. Other times it is not and it is okay.

Does it make me close minded if I can't understand why people are atheists?I guess how is the better way to say it. I seriously question everything...like facts from history, ect...but for some reason Ive never questioned religion. I grew up in a Christian home, not a SUPER Christian home, but one...

I'm an atheist, yet I'm open-minded enough to acknowledge that God might exist. If you are a theist, are you open-minded enough to acknowledge that He might not?

What are your thoughts on this admonishment, "Don't be so open minded that your brains leak out?"Other than it ending erroneously with a preposition, what are your thoughts on this admonishment?

Why are the folks at Catholic Answers forums so closed-minded when anyone critiques Pope Francis?Pope Francis is a human being. He is not God and therefore the Pope is not infallible, yet modern Catholic apologists treat him as if every word or action flowing from his mouth is beyond question.

Do you think that because someone has chosen religion, they are closed-minded people?Once you choose what you believe, there is nothing else. Does this make you closed-minded?

If you claim you will believe in god no matter what, isn't that closed minded and ignorant of the possibility that there is no god?
