Jezebel or Judas..........they were wicked people in the Bible!
I see so many families naming their new baby girl "Nevaeh". This is heaven spelled backwards. It's my belief that the opposite of any word has to be negative. For Christians it would definitely be a symbol of satan and the dark side.
My2greenbeans:
I stand corrected. The opposite of any "positive' word must be "negative".
The opposite of dark is light? Is that negative? Maybe in photographic development, i dunno as I have never created photo negatives before. Anyway. I agree it i s a silly name. My guess "Heaven" sounded like a hippie at best or stripper at worst but the parents like the sentiment behind it. If you can't name your kid the name you want and have them taken seriously, move on. Likewise if it is in the top 20 names skip it. Aside from any name in the "tops" list I'd never name a kid a made up name.
I've always really liked this name, but I've been afraid of the connotation. Remedy. I think it sounds absolutely beautiful, but it also sounds like she was the answer to a problem, or like we were trying to make her the answer to our relationship problems, or something. I've just always thought that the word in itself sounds so beautiful, and it would make a great name, if only it could mean something more!
Accepting we're not going to have any new offspring, in theory 'Bartholomew' is a no-no in this house. The surname of the previous owners of our property was Bartholomew (also a first name in past use), and they left countless flaws in their 'DIY' jobs that we keep finding hard to put right!
Another no-no is Rupert. I might be misogynistic but it reminds me of upper class twits - even if there are three British actors with the name, all from posh backgrounds
Damien or Adolf...both negatively associated names, even if the meanings themselves are bad (Damien or Damon is greek and means "to tame or subdue") but because of the Omen it has a negative association, although to me personally, it sounds so close to Demon anyway that I would just never name my child that no matter how its spelled. Adolf means "noble wolf" but obviously has the negative association with Hitler so I'd never use that either.
I came across quite a few Adolfs when I worked in Vienna back in the mid-60's, born well before Hitler came to power in the early 30's. I don't think the name was used much over there since WWII. There are quite a few pseudo-Nazis there nevertheless.
I know this is old, but I just thought I would put in something.
I could never name my child Michael. There are just too many in my family. I have uncles named Michael, cousins named Michael, my dad's name is Michael, my brother's name is Michael, half the time my dad introduces himself to a guy that guy's name happens to be Michael. There are just too many of them in existence already!

My opinion is that Michael Jackson was a kid toucher, bottom line. I loved Jackson's music when I was a kid, but when he started bleaching his skin and wearing shin guards, I realized something wasn't quite right with him. ADULTS SHOULD NOT SLEEP IN THE SAME BED WITH LITTLE CHILDREN.Am...

Ok, so I'm not the type to put my business on the internet, but I have a problem and I just need feed back. I don't care just lay it on me. One,since we've been married, my husband has only wore his ring for a very short time. Now he never wears it. Two, he always seems to...

Do you like your first name and did you like it when you were a child?I hated my first name when I was a child because it was so common, but I like it now because it is so easy

Is it ok that I don't want to have children?Considering my age I have realized that I won't have children. Is that ok? I know this always disappointed my mother (who is now deceased), but the last couple of years I feel guilty I haven't had a child and probably won't have a child. ...

Does everyone have their "curious" phase of experimenting with the same sex?Every "straight" man I have known has always been curious and tried fooling around with a guy. Does that make them gay or just experimenting to see what they truly like? If a gay guy or girl experiments...
