Politics- When you watched the debates did you take anything useful away from them?
Today debates seem so organized and staged to me. What did you learn from them? No bashing here. Please just share useful information.
I did not even watched them. To watch clowns is beneath my intelligence. I am still amazed to see people on this platform so enthusiastic on electing puppets that praised the same policy. We easily forget that Geithner belonged to the Bush's administration! And, for the ones who don't know it, he is a neoliberal (economical term).
Thanks for responding Max. I wasn't going to watch them because I thought they were for the undecided voters. But I wanted their takes on the "issues".
Sure sis. Both candidates are sold out and as a country, the US is done. The only good thing is that this is scripture and the will of our Father. His will be done on this great beast.
Thanks for responding. Though I too am beginning to clearly see signs of "the last days" I do not believe we will ever be given "up" on. Not looking for a flood/fire but a great enlightenment.
With so much at stake it is critical to make the best possible decision this time around. I watched all three debates and listened quite closely. I wanted to hear if there was something I was missing from Mr. Obama and I wanted to hear what Mr. Romney was offering.
The best part of the debates to me was I didn't have to have the filter of the big media people telling me what I was hearing from either candidate. I actually was able to hear their voices tell me what their answers to real questions were. It was important to me to understand how, after four years of being in office, Mr. Obama was going to make a difference. He had two of those years basically with total control in both the house and senate, and he chose to spend all of that time on health care, while the entire nation was in dismal shape. Now we have his healthcare plan, and he isn't even using it much as a positive to run on. What we don't have are jobs, and I haven't heard him articulate anything about what he intends to change that is going to improve that.
Mr. Romney hasn't been president, but he has been a Governor. He also has extensive business experience and is a self-made man financially. I aspire to do something similar one day - I hope. No where near there now, but I do have hope. I heard a plan from Mr. Romney as to how he intends to make the things that must be in place happen so opportunity can begin to grow on itself and we can get things moving again. Not just class warfare, redistribution, and calling food stamps "good for the economy."
No doubt, I was a lot more reluctant to join with Mitt Romney prior to the debates. After the debates, there is no question who is the most presidential, better leader and most qualified to lead the country out of this $16 trillion hole we are in and going in deeper to $20 trillion in 4 more years if things don't change. That man is Mitt Romney, and we must elect him.
It's interesting to note that I feel exactly the opposite to inventurist. I definitely did not feel Mr. Romney was Presidential. He came across as a petulant child who demanded his extra minute and whined when he thought he didn't get it, even though in truth, he did. He was rude and acted like a bully at times, interrupting and talking over the President.
More importantly, all I heard was a man who consistently repeated the same script...kind of like a robot or a trained animal. I don't buy that he is a self made man...he came from wealth, after all, and I don't doubt his father helped him a great deal.
Furthermore, he made his money in a business that is known to destroy other businesses to make a profit...to me, this is not productive.
In addition, I felt Mr. Romney came across as "needy"...he admitted he had to have his wife front and center so she could approve/disapprove of his presentation.
He shoots from the hip with unfounded comments before he has all of the information, and I don't think this is a good quality for a President.
In essence, Romney's performance during the debate showed some sides of him that weren't so great, which is, I guess, one of the purposes for having public debates!
Thank you for responding. I have omitted expressing my opinion because I want to hear what others have to say. Thanks for your honesty.
TimeTraveler2 Now that is an interesting take. Which of the debates were you watching? "...petulant child who demanded his extra minute and whined when he didn't get it.." Really? Obama had more time in every debate. He lied outright, over and over!

Do you think its a good idea or bad idea to write about politics on HubPages?Politics, like religion, stirs up emotions in some people bringing out their, shall we say, darker qualities. Knowing this is it a good idea to rouse them with political hubs?

Who do you think will do better in the Presidential Debates, Obama or Romney? Now that the Conventions are over, we can get back to the actual campaigns. A key part of both campaigns is to nail the Presidential Debates. Will the President do better, or will Romney? Why do you think so?

Is it interesting that both Romney and Obama agreed rules are needed, then ignored the debate rules?I felt there was intent in Obama taking more than two minutes to make up for losing "five seconds" and that a comparison of the actual time each candidate was allowed to talk would not show...

Why is it Presidential debates have to be on every channel? I feel like a child being punished.Seriously, do they have to be on every channel? Do they think that we are not smart enough to turn to the right one, tape it, or watch it online afterwards? It's as if I'm a child being punished who...

Of the four 2012 debates who do you think was the best moderator? Why?Do you think the moderators should be more neutral rather than pro a certain political party or candidate in future debates? It is my belief that the moderators tried to stay somewhat neutral, but at least one was blatantly...
