What would you do if you knew, tomorrow you were going to lose everything you own?
With increasing taxes; rising gas prices; lay-offs; pay-cuts; demotions, fewer jobs and inadequate assistance from the government: what would you do this very second, if you knew you were going to lose everything you own and have worked hard for? How confident are you that the people in your life would help you, if you were to face genuine hardship tomorrow? How sure are you of their support, understanding and compassion in your time of need? Would you be willing to trust God with it all?
I am preparing for the day.
America is $16.3 Trillion in debt and effectively bankrupt. When that debt bubble pops, the world will feel it, and America's infrastructure will be decimated.
The beast of greed wants it this way, because in such chaos, people (out of fear) will accept all manner of changes they would not otherwise accept.
In such times, many will give up their family for their own survival.
But God will always be there for us. This is the great test -- to love God over all physical need.
Well, having had this happen to me once already, I have an advantage in answering this question. I'm not trying to be funny because losing everything is no fun, with or without support.
But based on my past experience this is what I would do: Get my attitude adjusted, get in gear, expect nothing from anyone and be grateful for every little thing I can find. I would be busier than I have ever been and yes I would be willing to trust God with it all...since that is what we do anyway, whether we say so or not.
This could happen to anyone...and more than once, yet I would suggest that it will never be the circumstances of life that will be the measure of whether or not one is able to successfully recover from calamity, but the attitude with which one faces that adversity!
Peace be with you always!
vamenasco......Today, more than any other time in our lifetime, this scenario is not as impossible as we might hope. To echo Born2care, an astute and thoughtful fellow-hubber, this would be a situation that would jolt us into gear..."full speed ahead." Although I am blessed with loving and generous family, I would ask their assistance only if I found myself up against an insurmountable obstacle, beyond my own capabilities.
My attitude would be one of determination, hope and patience. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Trying to rebuild a life requires faith as well as focus and creativity. Throughout time, millions have accomplished miraculous transformations. It can be done.
if you are foolish enough to think some god is going to help you, that's your mistake. i have friends and family that would gladly help me out if needed. this i'm sure about. if god is there for people, then why would this mess happen?look at africa and many other countries and explain where god has been for them.
Again, what would you do if you found yourself faced with hardship today, what would your reaction be? Let's keep it about you, not insult other people's outlook on life. Thanks!
Sadly, @nightwork4, thinks God's purpose is something to suit his own needs. He doesn't realize that God created us in His image and likeness, and that God is not Homo sapiens. The Flood was sent to save His children, not the temporary human vessels.
i'm not insulting anyone, i'm be a realist. i've faced hardship many times and i know plenty about it. because this hope god will save me sounds absurd, i'm going to voice it. have you ever lived on the streets? i have and god wasn't even a thought.
@nightwork4, thanks for keeping it, "I & me" statements.in this comment. Yes, I have & have been homeless many times since age 4 My own experience is, God was faithful to provide when I believed in Him, despite MY bad choices.
I'm sure no one will help me in times of trouble, except God.I would not want to share my troubles with any human.

If God DIRECTLY told you to kill your first child and you knew it was Him, would you do it?Re-phrasing a question that I asked previously that HP deemed substandard. Most of the answers were judging the pastor, but that is not what I asked. I asked HOW would you do it?

What could humanity do if it knew it would lose 3/4 of the worlds population? From the possible to the extremely unreal, (from climate change to rampant zombie plague). humanity knew it had only 4 years before the climate changed or the flesh eating hordes invade?Think 2012?

What would you do if you knew the exact day and cause of your death in the future?
