What do you expect from Obama's 2nd term as US President?
What changes from the previous term do you expect? What improvements to you hope will be made?
I expect exactly what Valerie Jarrett promised: "It will be payback time." Freed of the need to worry about reelection, this crowd of radicals will run amok and grab for every extraconstitutional ounce of authority it can get away with. It's going to be a rough four years for America. You Obama groupies, don't expect your neighbors to be speaking to you by the end of it.
Come on, be nice we spoke to them after 8 years of Bush! I am laughing though to be thought of as a running Amok Radical at 60 is kind of flattering.
I didn't know you were a member of the administration's inner circle, Justsilvie. I'll try to remember that.
Attikos, I agree with you. Personally, I didn't care for either candidate, but the anti-Obama people in Texas are venomous. It's not even subliminal racism anymore, but outright vulgar behavior. It's not just on the internet, but everywhere.
More broken promises.
More creeping tyranny and shredding of the Constitution, like,
* Obama's kill list which includes Americans
* NDAA with its indefinite detention clauses for Americans
* The end of Posse Comitatus
* The end of Habeas Corpus
* HR 347 and the criminalization of free speech, making it a felony to protest what the government is doing
I fully expect things to limp along until no one buys our government bonds because they become worthless. Somewhere between $16.3 Trillion and $30 Trillion in debt, the Bubble will Pop, and Earth will be toast, while America becomes ground zero for the economic meltdown. Then, all the FEMA camps will be overflowing with protesters ripe for the eugenics experiments for massive depopulation.
I can't believe how deluded Americans have become. But only a year ago, I was just as clueless. Four years ago, I got caught up in the rhetoric of the silver-tongued devil and supported Obama.
It breaks my heart that America is right now just where Germany was 80 years ago. Only when America goes bust, the only solution will be global tyranny and too many will buy that solution -- even demand it.
Improvements? Cosmetic, at best. But if America is not completely dead by the end of Obama's new term, I'll be completely surprised.
The Rockefellers and Rothschilds are closing in on the completion of a 200+ year plan for global takeover. You have to admit, it was a pretty sexy plan and smoothly pulled off.
I will miss America, though. It was a good idea while it lasted.
Don't worry I'll do better when I conquer the world and send the radical politicians to mars. They can be live human test subjects.
In short, none. People have this impression that the President has all sorts of power, when in reality he doesn't. About all he can really do on his own is send us to war, any major changes past that has to be approved by congress and can be overturned by the Supreme Court.
This administration has shown a remarkable willingness to make new policy whether or not it has the approval of the congress, and the courts are too slow to stop it.
Sapper, I agree. Presidents have this built-up persona of power and authority that amounts to nothing. In a sense, they are trapped by their own office. I'd even argue that the Pentagon is what railroads them into combat deployment decisions.

What I hope and what I expect are two different things. I expect more of the smothering regulatory environment. I expect the Fed to announce another round of QE and continuing to devalue the dollar to mask the fiscal insolvency with the hidden tax of inflation since washington can't begin handle the peoples money effectively. I expect more of the anti-business environment to continue. More of the chinese making a mockery of the US in terms of trade. More coal plants to be shut down. And a further expansion of the welfare state.
I prefer none of these things.

The President held a one sided press conference today,11,09,2012.That's a press conference where he talks, don't take questions and leaves the podium. Just another photo op.
What he said was no different than in the past and compromise
Sort of my point. I expect more of the same and maybe a little worse. particulary the regulatory environment.
I expect a lot of entertainment. Most of it will involve reading the "insightful" comments from those that believe that our (sarcasm) KENYAN (/sarcasm) President is going to send out his special unit of stormtroopers to take away their rights door to door.
Someone forgot to inform them that Disney owns the Stormtroopers, not Obama. ;-)
I don't expect much, just more of the same. Just a bunch of rhetoric.
I personally hope the far right and left wing will both be put to death in a desperate attempt to save democracy but I suppose the president's power only goes so far.
You never know. The presidency has accumulated so much power it is moving past the constitutional boundaries of his office just as the government as a whole has. Sooner or later, an authoritarian will take the white house. Maybe one already has.
The mainstream media didn't report, wonder why?

More of the same. Spending and laws that don't get approved. If he can bring down unemployment to 5% and the decrease the deficit significantly by 2016 it'll be incredible.
and really how long should the constitution NOT be changed?
Stick with every law made over 200 years ago? ( although most are very good)
If you want progress you gotta stop living in the past.
Obviously ,freedom of speech has changed. The right to bear arms should be modified as well due to these mass shooting sprees.
Yes, let's just throw out all those inconvenient restraints on power and declare the president free to do whatever he likes. But wait a moment ... Sooner or later, W. or someone like him will be back in office. Oh, well, you get what you give, eh?
I expect the economy to continue in its gradual growth mode. I expect interest rates to finally go up in order to offset inflation. I also expect some partisan bickering, but I'm actually somewhat hopeful about the possibility of compromise. The Republican tactic of opposing virtually everything Obama proposes has not proven to be politically effective, so they might be more willing to cut some deals. The question is whether or not Obama will be willing to compromise or will be looking to capitalize on his newfound (supposed) "political capital." Here is what I think that Obama should do as soon as possible:

P.S. I expect neither a utopia or an apocalypse. People who expect either of those things take political rhetoric and elections way too seriously.
The same economic malaise that we suffered in the first term, with further blaming of Bush.
