    Why telephone number required when publish new hub?

    I am an old hubber and I just open a new account . I wanted to publish my 1st post but hubpage asked for my hand set 5 digit number. Why? I didn't see any rules about it. Furthermore, I don't want my personal details disclose either. Pls rectify my problem. My new account username is taiwanjpm, Btw, I had emailed to team@hubpages about my problem but no reply.

    hhmm.. i think that's because you're posting your first hub. i remember entering the last five digits of my mobile number also. When did you send them an email? maybe you have to wait at least 24 hrs before receiving their response.

      thanks . Is this the new regulation? When I had my new account 3 years ago, I don't have to key in tel for my first hub

      Hi guys,

      I am not sure regarding the telephone questions but can understand your apprehension  but if unhappy about disclosing such information why  not ask if  there is an  option to give different security questions you'd be happier disclosing

    I'm really confused about what they are now doing as well. I read this question to find out what they are up to now, because I've never heard of this before either. I'm interested in hearing why.

    Maybe a new feature to ensure that user is not a robot. There is nothing wrong in it. We get the msg/call in few seconds & e just have to type the code.
