What are you getting for YOURSELF this Christmas?
This is a great time to think of families and friends, but have you remembered yourself? You have been working so hard the whole year, being the best you you could possibly be, it's time to appreciate yourself. It doesn't have to cost much, but it is an important gesture to say "Yes, I appreciate Me." If you are not in the habit of self-appreication, this is a good time to stop and say "I Love You" to You. It doesn't even have to cost anything, writing a love poem to yourself might be a very sweet thing to do.
I got myself a 'Keep Calm and Carry On' cup and another one with 'Keep Calm and I have got the receipt' cup to remind me to always have a sense of humour whatever happens in the coming year!
That's wonderful Sushma! I think I saw the exact cups at Farmers today! I am sure they will be great companies and keep you nicely supplied with hot beverages as you write more excellent hubs! Nurturing your mind/body/soul all at once xoxo
Sounds good FatFreddyCat! Will you be watching your great collection of movies while sampling the beverage?
I'm hoping that Santa will bring me DVDs of the new "Spider-Man" movie and "The Dark Knight Rises," and if that's the case, then indeed I shall!
If you whisper a little bit louder you just might get those DVDs! I haven't watched either of these movies yet. I almost got the new Spiderman until I realized they've changed the main acter/actress!!!! (who I have a form of strange loyalty to)
I'm hit by Austerity so I will be getting myself a farmhouse supper over Christmas and some treats that I enjoy eating. And I'll also be getting myself a couple of good films that I like and a couple of Compact Discs.
Happy Christmas.
I am a full time student so I won't be lashing out much cash either! But there is great contentment with simple pleasure! I think you have a great plan! I love watching my favorite DVDs while happily munching away! Merry Christmas To You! xoxo
I'm getting myself a 15 minute daily escape to experience quiet and meditate and center myself.
Dear violetheaven, life must be hectic raising a small child! I wish you the most refreshing and rejuvenating 15 minutes of delightful centered calmness. Who knows, it might slowly extend to 18, 20, 30 minutes that you could gift towards yourself xo
I have researched my family history for over 15 years and have been up against a brick wall with my great-grandfather's family in Poland. My gift to myself is hiring someone who lives there and has has done research for me before to search the church records so I can finally learn more about my ancestors. I share my research with my extended family, so not only is it a gift for myself, but one I will give to them, too, in the near future.
Dear KDeus, what a very unusual, meaningful gift 4 yourself and your entire extended family for generations 2 come! I kept getting reminded of a great documentary about J K Rowling's search 4 one of her grandfather. Maybe yours might be filmed 1 day!
I worked very hard this year to complete the second year of my Fine Arts degree. It's normal to spend all day and all night and even the entire weekend at the studio on my projects and spend food money on art materials. During the holiday I've allowed myself to relax and to spend more time on my other passion - writing, and try to get to know how things work here at hubpages. For Christmas, I have bought some of my favorite movies on DVDs. A cute handcraft fabric owl keyring to replace my very old nz bumblebee one, a lovely pink/black summer dress. I've also got some birthday gift vouchers for Whitcoulls (bookshop) which I am waiting patiently to use on Boxing Day Sale! (I've got my eyes on a really nice notebook for my new dream diary). Oh and I'd better get my cat Twinkle some extra yummy cat food ( I know she wouldn't want anything else) lol.
It's going to be a very quiet Christmas for me this year, most of my families are away overseas. I really appreciate you leaving your answers here and exchange our little well deserved Xmas self pampering. Thank You and A Very Merry Christmas to you all. xoxoxo

Do you prefer to dine out or eat at home on Christmas Day?I had been dining at home on Christmas Day for years. Th last time I dine out on Christmas Day was 20 years go. Meals are expensive and so are parking fees. Exorbitant fees. Dining at home maybe be boring but comfy. What do you think?

I can't say I've heard of Christmas till I arrived in NZ 10 years ago. New Years Day was the big celebration and still is for me. Having said that, today, every christmas we generally do the same routine - pull out the christmas tree, hide those presents and fire up the ovens! How do you celebrate...
