How do you build backlinks to your site?

What is the best way to build quality backlinks to your website?  And are there any settings on my hub pages site that needs to be changed to accept inbound links?

Well, you can publish hubs that have a relation to the information on your website. In the hubs, you can put hyperlink to URL address on your website relating to your hubs. For example, if you are publishing a hub about 1080p smartphone and you have information on some 1080p smartphones on your website, you can put hyperlink on the text "1080p smartphone" on your hub and direct it to the corresponding URL on your website.

There is a ton of information on the web that you can read through about creating backlinks a majority of those tactics will result in short term results that ultimately do more harm than good.  The best methods for increasing traffic and organically gaining good quality links is to post your content to social media sites like facebook, twitter, pinterest, google+ and others, and hope that people enjoy reading what you are writing an share it with others.

I have been doing some research on this by listening to Google web master hangouts and some true experts like Josh Bacyzinski.  Unless you have a strategy for getting quality back links I would be very cautious. The first step is to become an authority on a subject.  Then once you are considered an authority, start posting and hanging out in places where you will be recognized as an authority. People will naturally refer to your articles with no request for mutual links. The higher the rank of the web site like Google rank #1   ( Google ranks sites 1-10) the better if they link to you.  So if you became an authority on South American Rainforest frogs you would have several university sites linking to you which rank very high on Google's system.

Don't get links from non related sites. If you're selling tires don't expect anything to help you from a kitchen and bath website.  If you have purchased a web template remove the link to the author (often put in without you seeing or knowing about it) as this will hurt your ranking as well.

Obviously you will not become an expert in back linking here but head over to You tube and look for Google hangouts.  Look for Google themselves and see what they say.  It will take you a whole day of research but well worth it in the end.

You can go to hubspot.com and get some free e-books on linking and web site management as long as you sign up for their email list.  They will call you regularly to offer their services but I found that once I put "Don't Call" in the name spot they quit calling!

BTW don't ever buy back links.  Your site will be penalized and tank.

Let us know how you make out!

You scroll to the bottom of your Hub article and click 'link to this page', copy highlighted text then go to facebook or any other social network site, write a one sentence preview of your article and paste in the link to your page, done.

You have just created a back link, do this for everyone of your hubs on at least ten social networking sites and sit back and enjoy the readers.

10 social networking sites?  My gawd!  The only site I use that is what I consider social networking, is this one.  My other sites occasionally get hits from social networks, but I'm not wasting time placing links to 'em, as I'd rather play the SEs.

If you write quality content that covers a subject, especially if it is unique, that is highly searched for, you will accrue backlinks naturally - over time, of course.
As for all that social network hooey:  it brings you temporary traffic, but it doesn't count as static links.
Do-Follow links via blog 'comment fields' most likely carry little weight now, but the good ol' fashion link exchange between webmasters that place your link within the content of a static HTML page, will always fair well.
You'll run into a lot of wanna-be gurus on this subject, so it is best to figure it out by way of trial and error.
I mean, we got people that make a few greenbacks and claim to be SEO experts, for crying out loud...  LOL!
As the old adage states from the movie Field of Dreams, "if you build it, they will come."  ...Just make sure you build it right, when concerning your little online network and never put all of your eggs in one basket, blah, blah...
