   No question, it will be Alabama. Their running game is impossible to contain because it wears defenses down. When was the last time an SEC team didn't appear in the National Championship?

   Notre Dame can't compete with Alabama

      I hope you bet a whole lot of $$$$. Kudos to you for being spot on. I got this buddy who moved up here from Alabama a year ago. Now I'll have to listen to him gloat for the next year.

      Alabama is a powerhouse in the SEC, Notre Dame is located somewhere in the United States. That's all I can think of for Notre Dame. This match-up was a no contest when leading up to it and its uninteresting to watch.

      Dang, BlackandGoldJack, you are having a tough time holding your head above water these days. You told me the Steelers would make the playoffs with 3 weeks to play...then you picked the Irish? Yikes!!!

   Look, I know this announcement comes in after the fact, but anyone who knows me knows that I chose Bama...big time. I have said for a long time that Notre Dame was just a pretender and Bama is no joke. I truly expected a blow out.
   
   Now, I cannot wait for the new playoff system to be implemented. They will take the top 4 teams and conduct a mini-playoff, but I think they should take all the major conference champions and then give "wild cards" to 3 teams making it a "sweet sixteen" scenario.
   
   Play 10 conference games...then the conference championship....then upwards of four playoff games. I mean, heck, Bama played 14 games this year anyway...so, what is one more? This way every conference champ has a chance to win and so do 3 teams that were powerful, but did not win their conference. This takes the control away from the sportswriters and keeps it with the players.
