What are the signs or qualities of a balanced and mature relationship between any two people?

As examples, a sign might be that two people can talk openly, honestly and calmly about any issue between them. A quality, similar just from another angle, might be deep mutual trust that is constant through all challenges.

Willingness and commitment to do the things you mention. Love is not a feeling as much as a decision, an action, to do good for the other even when you don't feel it. When you practice this on a regular basis, the feelings follow. I think also wanting to be your best and give your best to the one you love.

In a balanced and mature relationship, each party can admit when they are wrong. There isn't a constant power struggle. Both people can appreciate the other person's strengths and they do not pummel each other for their faults. In unhealthy relationships, a person is shamed for being a human being with strengths and weaknesses. The immature person readily attacks the other person for any perceived fault while they refuse to admit their own faults. In a balanced relationship, there is a balance of power. One person doesn't have to be the mighty ruler all the time. The relationship between Spock, Kirk and Bones is balanced and mature even when they fight and disagree because the characters have strength of character. They are able to humble themselves when they are wrong and they have a sense of humour about themselves. The mission comes before personal egos. They are loyal and stand by one another.

I believe you are right, when it is not a constant power struggle, and also not about who is right or wrong or a competition......

Being relaxed and peaceful with each other and when apart; lack of insecurities about the relationship.  Encouraging autonomy and independence to be with others and give of yourself; lack of jealousy because the trust runs deep.

Respect. I think it all comes down to respect. You can talk calmly about issues, have conversations instead of arguments, and resolve everyday disputes if you respect the other person. They aren't just another copy of you- they are themselves and it's okay to not agree on every single thing, just don't yell about it!

The level understanding among two people is the main way to understand the qualities of maturity they share in their relationship. Even the space they offer each other is also important to a long way. Apart from what ever is said in the question, the mutual respect to go together in life and level of commitment is also necessary I think. The feel that, they are two different individual and they are together with their many differences may be another strong reason of a matured relationship.
    Thank you.

Acceptance of the other person as they are and acceptance of who you truly are in this life.  Being real, keep it simple, maintain honesty without being rude to the point of where you are suggesting the other person has problems you want fixed (because then really the problem is you).  Kindness, trust, and having a warmth that allows the other person to speak freely are all qualities of a mature relationship.

It's when the two people in that relationship supports each other, still willing to impress their mate and grow the friendship every day.

Statistics show that married couples who had successfully and happily lived together for decades  and who are still "in love" with each other are those who spontaneously laugh a lot together. They mutually see the humor in life and everything in it; they also solve problems together, they dream together even when they differ in the approach. I surely agree with this and I believe that this is not only applicable to married couples; this works too in friendship and any other relationships. My best friend of 17 years and I keep our friendship intact and fun because together we see the funny side of life, even in our jobs. We call our friendship "laughing together through the years" despite so many seemingly serious problems and griefs. The problems and sadness passed and the laughter continues.
