   Yes.  We have a Lab that comes up and lays at the foot of the bed sometime in the early morning hours.  And if my husband lays down for a nap, the Lab and German shepherd join him.  They are our family now with our kids grown.

   My last dog, yes. He slept in the bed with me every night, even though I had a loft bed. I'd carry him up the stairs, my little dachshund. But the two boy cats we have now are locked in the bathroom and the two girls sleep with us in the bed or wander freely around the house. Hopefully, that will change once we get the two boys fixed.

   In my house it's more of a we sleep in the cat's bed with her.  Beaujois definitely knows she is the owner and we are the pets!

   I don't have a dog, but I really really would love one. Never wanted a cat. However, if I had a dog I would not let it sleep on my bed. I wouldn't even keep one in the house (the garage on really cold nights only). It just seems really hard to keep clean and whenever I have visited a home where large pets were kept inside, I could always tell it without being told. Even when the pet owner really attempted to keep everything clean and was constantly cleaning.

      Dogs are naturally pack animals.  To get one and throw it in the back yard would be emotionally abusive.  Dogs need to be with their people.  They are social creatures and suffer emotionally when left alone for large periods of time. Don't get one.

      I agree with agilitymach and mvillecat. Pets are part of the family and they are loyal when treated right. They need love and attention. They are not hard to take care of because if you want one it wouldnt bother you. Please don't get one

   i have a cat but never let it sleep on our bed nor sofa. Her furs keep falling off. She's an old cat. Furthermore, my child who is allergic to dust, furs, etc keep sneezing when the cat is near him. So, she always sleep the neighbor's car, boxes, etc. Never  at or in our house.

   I no longer have any pets but I never let our dogs or cats sleep in any of the bedrooms.  They had their own and knew that bedrooms were out of bounds.  No hairs everywhere, no smells and good discipline.  I don't think it's healthy to have pets in bedrooms and definitely not in/on beds.  People can show their pets lots of love without doing that and it's not unkind; animals, certainly dogs, respond to hierarchy and are happy doing so.

   Yes.  Well, it's more a case of - No, but they climb up so softly and quietly about 20mins after the light is off that they do anyway.

    To Philli: If someone were to comment about my dog in my house, I would also comment "the front door is open and you can leave at any time". I guess it is a matter of priorities.
    Do I let my dog sleep in my bed? No way. She likes to go swimming during the afternoons and on our late night walks so she tracks in wet sand. If I let her sleep in my bed my sheets would be a mess. (As it is I have to sweep the floor in my bedroom every day just to remove all of the sand.)
    Is she worth it? Of course. This goes back to the issue of priorities.

    Yes. We have always allowed our dogs and cats to sleep with us. We live as a pack and sleep like one too. It is so comforting to have them with us. I cannot imagine not letting be near us.

    No.  As much as I love my dogs and consider them like children, no they would not be allowed to sleep on my bed.  They would get their own beds and blankets and toys and treats, maybe a doggie bed in each room, but my bed is mine.  Plus I would be afraid I would roll over and smother them in the middle of the night.

    Yes I have two small dogs and they sleep with us.  We live in a small community and they will cause a disturbance if they would sleep outside and start barking.

    I certainly do let my dog sleep on my bed. Which is probably a mistake. He's fairly big, and moves around a lot. But he's a big lug who likes to cuddle, so it's not all bad.

    Yes, they sleep on the bed with us; however, they get off the bed when it gets to warm and once my husband leaves for work they take over his side of the bed. But it is every persons own choice whether or not a pet should in bed with them.

    My two cats follow me around as I move about the house. At night it's no different. They each find a spot on my bed and cuddle in. It's so cute.

    No,,,my dogs don't sleep on my bed...and i won't even let cats in my house. Cats are Satan's hell spawns...sorry but they are.

    My dog snuggles in the crook of my bent knees under the blankets (where he is trying to get now) and the cat sleeps on whichever side of me that is not residing on the bed.  If I am really lucky the cat will sleep on my head or my chest.
