   Cubs in 7 over the Tigers! Oh, my answer is too short. OK. How about if the Chicago Cubs, led by 95 year old Alfonso Spriano, win the World Seres over the Detroit club in seven scintillating games!

      The Cubs are gonna win the World Series?  In your wildest dreams, maybe.  I don't see that happening for the next at least 10 years, or so.

   That's a hard one.  Some people might pick the Angels, or the Blue Jays in the AL.  Those are the bold picks.  Less bold picks would be the Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, and Rangers.  In the NL, probably the Cardinals, Giants, and Dodgers are the most common picks.  However, teams like the Phillies, Braves, and Brewers are outside picks.  I really don't know who will play in the World Series this year, but hopefully the Phillies win it all.

   I want to see a Boston Red Sox vs Atlanta Braves World Series match-up for 2013. It will come down to the 7th game and the winner would be the Boston Red Sox. A tough choice because I'm a huge fan of both teams.

      I happen to hate the Braves, as I am a Phillies fan.  Hopefully the Braves miss the playoffs, and the Phils win it all this year.

      I wouldn't be surprised to see the Braves in it. Can't really see the Red Sox though, too much turmoil that last two years, that club is in major rebuild mode.

      Can't see the Sox getting out of the division. Rays and Jays will finish ahead of the Yankees and Red Sox. Atlanta could be good, but they have the history of being just not quite good enough even when they were better than they are now.

   As a Missourian, I have to go with my Cardinals. Even losing Chris Carpenter to possible career ending injury and Kyle Lohse to free agency (although no one has ponied up any money for him and he remains without a job), they have a strong pitching staff, and a couple of future aces in Shelby Miller and Trevor Rosenthal waiting in the wings. In addition, while they are somewhat weak at the second base position, they have a strong candidate in Kolten Wong waiting for the call up, and he will more than fill the position for years to come. And they have a couple of top ten positional players in Matt Adams and Oscar Taveras who are good enough to be in the bigs right now, but are blocked by all stars such as Carlos Beltran and Allen Craig.
   For the American League, it is hard to go against the Angels, with their purchased power in Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson, or the Oakland A's, with their wealth of home grown talent and superb pitching. Personally, I like the A's, because pitching trumps hitting every time.
   And the winner is: St. Louis Cardinals in 6 games.

      I'm a fan of the Cardinals as well but I'm in CA.  I wish they would stop this pattern of losing a starter before the season even starts.

      Yea the Cardinals seem to always be in the hunt. Last year proved they will be OK, every after losing Pujols and LaRussa.

   I want to see the Boston Braves and the Boston Red Sox face off in the series.  The Boston Braves won it all 101 years ago in 1914 and I think they are ready to do it again.  I know that the Braves are on loan to Atlanta, but after the season  the Red Sox had last year, there's a great deal of support to bringing back our Boston Braves.  Atlanta, you can have the Florida Marlins since I am pretty sure everybody in Miami has had it with them. 
   
   The Miracle 1914 Boston Braves were in last place in July and went on a tear never seen in baseball before or since and ended up winning the National League pennant and then in the World Series they crushed the mighty Philadelphia Athletics; led by owner/manager Connie Mack.

   Because of the many talents that Tronto is picking up  I feel strongly that it will be The Blue Jays  over the Dodgers in six games...  The Phillies will make a run and so will the Texas Rangers.. but I feel the Yankees are too old

      The Jays have a shot, but can anyone but the Yankees "buy" a pennant? The Phillies are old, and the Rangers lost a big part of their offense. Gotta be the A's and Angels in the American League, Cards and Braves in the National.

   Left coast series this year, Angels and the Dodgers. Hamilton, Pujols, and Trout likely will up big numbers for the Angels. Dodgers seem willing to spend money to get whatever they need, but they may have enough already. Big plus if Kemp and Crawford are healthy.

   The Angels will probably be the favorites all year with Pujols and Trout in the AL. The Braves look good with the pickup of Justin Upton and will be a force in the NL. But I have to go with my Giants for a repeat and 3 titles in 4 years. Other teams that will make some noise are Phillies, Reds, Cardinals, Yankees, Orioles and Tigers.

      No, I haven't.  Neither have I gotten over the defeat by the hands of the Cardinals in the 2011 NLDS.  That's why I dislike those teams.  Along with beating the Phils in the NLCS in 2010, they beat my second favorite team, the Rangers.  Go Phils!

    I really want to make an exciting pick like the blue jays or the dodgers over a powerhouse, but I think this is another trend year. We've been seeing the most well put together NL teams taking the crown each year, especially in the cardinals and giants. Baseball's all about balance and there's no use in being top or bottom heavy now a days. For that reason, I don't think the tigers or the blue jays stand a chance. I love the Orioles, mostly because they're young and angry from last year. Also, they're so well balanced. That being said, the lack of World Series experience could hurt them. I'm predicting that a smaller team from the NL takes them in 6 or 7. A lot of people would say the Nationals, and I wouldn't disagree, though I think the cardinals make a run in September again. I'd choose the Cards over the O's in 6.
