Who is your source of Inspiration?

There are times, when we feel low. We need some motivation, some inspiration to move forward. Who is that 'someone', in your life?

My mother is my source of inspiration. She is a successful visual artist and her imagination knows no bounds. She taught me to look at things not just one way, but from every angle. She's one of the hardest workers I know. She has gotten up at 4:00 a.m. for years in order to do her art - and it paid off. She always reminds me to step out of my comfort zone because that's where new and exciting things are found.

Mothers are like that everywhere. Hats off to them. Lovely to know about your mother through your answer. Thanks!

You're welcome Billie. My mother raised 5 kids so the only time she had to herself was early in the morning. It remained a habit. She's 79 and still gets up early to do her weaving, abstract painting or sculpture.

I've read your profile, Ann, and I'll just quote MY mother here:  "You don't get apples from a pear tree."  You certainly are following your mom's role modeling smile

My source for any inspiration in my life is God the father and Jesus Christ my savior.

Character's in my favorite novels. They always inspire me. Other than that, I inspire myself with my interests.

Will it surprise you when I say that my source of inspiration are the bitter and traumatic experiences I faced in my life. It has given me courage, fortitude and above all hope that nothing is lost if you keep trying.

No, I am not surprised. Because I do agree with you. Life is a teacher and every bitter and traumatic experience teaches us something and makes us even more stronger. Till there is life there is hope. Truly inspirational answer, thanks!

re: writing inspiration: I think my daughter who is an actor and comedianne is the source of much of my inspiration. She and I are so busy, we don't talk as much as I like to, but when we do, she "speaks" my language.  Just yesterday I noticed a word doc. saved in my folder labeld "HubPages." It was the beginning of a piece I started writing 2 years ago sad  The title:  "Is Your Achilles Heel Your Super Power?"  I thought, now where did I get THAT idea.  It was from my daughter Bethany Therese.   So I think the person who is a great source of inspiration for me is my daughter.

I actually get greatly inspired from, of all places, TV sitcoms and dramas.  Yesterday's "Big Bang Theory" where Howard didn't want to open a letter his absent father had sent, touched me greatly and has my brain cooking with some ideas for an essay or short story. It was almost as touching to me as the segment where Penny gives Seldon an autographed napkin that she had Leonard Nemoy sign for Seldon. Jason Segal's performances on the two episodes on the death of his father in "How I Met Your Mother," were very inspirational to me.  "Grey's Anatomy" always touches me and leaves me with ideas.

For personal inspiration, I want to share a link that I just found yesterday that I had never known about before. I first went to hubpages for the question: "How do you find your purpose in life?" The question asked was answered only minimally so I searched google and found this exercise which might be inspiring to others as it was to me.   http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/0 … 0-minutes/

It is so sweet to know that your daughter is your inspiration. We learn so much from our own children. You rightly pointed out that we get inspiration from so many people around us. Thanks for your wonderful answer and the link.

I admit I am fully a creationist. So I suppose it makes sense that I am inspired by everything. Sometimes I try not to, but normally I see inspiration everywhere.

I agree with you, that we can find inspiration around us....everywhere.
